Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev was born on September 17, 1956 in the village of Arashan of Voroshilovsky district of the Frunze region (nowadays Alamudunsky district of Chuy Region) of Kyrgyzstan.
Education
In 1980 graduated from the Moscow institute of management (nowadays State university of management) as "an engineer-economist, an organizer of production management".
Biography
From 2004 to 2005 was the chairman of the board of directors of "Kyrgyzavtomash corporation.
2005: Minister of Economic Development of Kyrgyzstan
In 2005-2006 – the acting as the minister, the Minister of Economic Development, the industry and trade of Kyrgyzstan.
2007: Prime minister of Kyrgyzstan
In 2006-2007 Atambayev was the prime minister of Kyrgyzstan.
Since 2007 was engaged in vigorous social and political activity.
2011: President of Kyrgyzstan
On December 20, 2010 it is appointed the prime minister of Kyrgyzstan. Almazbek Atambayev announced the candidacy for president of Kyrgyzstan three times. On October 30, 2011 it was elected the president. Officially entered a position on December 1, 2011. Held this post till fall of 2017.
2019: Detention as a result of storm of the residence
Almazbek Atambayev was delayed on August 8, 2019 after two-day storm of his residence which was followed by mass riots with participation of supporters of the former head of the state. As a result of special operation one person died, 85 suffered.
2020
11 years of prison for the help in release of the criminal leader
On June 23, 2020 the May Day district court of Bishkek pronounced a sentence to Almazbek Atambayev. The former president of Kyrgyzstan was given 11 years and two months of prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the state awards for participation in release of the criminal leader Aziz Batukayev.
Batukayev was released from prison in 2013 because recognized as fatally sick. After release he at once left Kyrgyzstan. Later it became clear that the medical certificate was forged. In addition to Atambayev involved in illegal release of Batukayev consider 19 more people.[1]
Release from the pre-trial detention center protesters after the parliamentary elections
Protests in Bishkek began in the morning on October 5, 2020 after last parliamentary elections. By the evening they developed into disorders. Against activists used lacrimogeneous gas, stun grenades and rubber bullets.
On the night of October 6 protesters rushed into the building of the White House. Then the crowd went to the pre-trial detention center of GKNB and released from the insulator of the ex-president of the republic Almazbek Atambayev and also the former prime minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov.
