Oleg Bartunov is a researcher in the Department of Emission Stars and Galaxies, GAISH Moscow State University, developer of PostgreSQL since 1996, member of the PostgreSQL Foundation.

Biography

Born in Elista. Educated at the Physics Department of Moscow State University.

Since 1976 he has been working at the State Astronomical Institute of Moscow State University as a researcher. Founder of the astronomical site astronet.ru.

PostgreSQL developer (major contributor) since 1996, member of the PostgreSQL Foundation community.

The main interests in PostgreSQL: extensibility (GiST, GIN, SP-GiST), new data types, indexes.

Co-author of full-text search, storage for semi-structured data (hstore) and other extensions.

In 1999-2002, he worked at Rambler as deputy director of the R&D department.
