Bershidsky Leonid Davidovich

Russian media manager. Leonid Bershidsky has an experience both in printing, and in online media. So, in Russia it started the Vedomosti newspaper, Russian-language versions of the business magazines Forbes, Newsweek and Smart Money and also founded the business Internet portal Slon.ru.

2012: The website Forbes in Ukraine

At the end of 2011 the media manager said that he will not prolong the contract with Eksmo publishing house because of the beginning of work on the new project - for the sake of it Bershidsky even moved to live to Kiev. That Bershidsky was called to start the website of the Ukrainian Forbes, it became known in April, 2012. The website of the Ukrainian Forbes was started in September, 2012. In Ukraine Bershidsky also advised the editorial office of the Fokus magazine.

Rumors about Bershidsky's withdrawal from Forbes appeared in the middle of November, 2012, however earlier the media manager in a conversation with Lenta.ru refused to comment on them, having told what knows nothing about it.

At the end November, 2012 it became known that Leonid Bershidsky since January, 2013 will leave a position of the Chief Editor of the website of the Ukrainian Forbes. The Ukrainian AIN portal with reference to the official statement of the UMH Group holding publishing Forbes in Ukraine reports about it. Later Bershidsky confirmed this information on the page on Facebook.

Bershidsky explained that he during operating time in the Ukrainian Forbes got paid "very big by local standards". According to the media manager, it was justified by the fact that he was engaged in creation from scratch new in media, and after start of the website he cannot explain any more to himself why he earns much more colleagues. Bershidsky added that though he could remain the Chief Editor of Forbes.UA further, he advised publishers to spend money which they pay it, on search of new strong journalists. Bershidsky is going to return to Moscow. Duties of the Chief Editor of the website since 2013 will be fulfilled by Bershidsky's deputy in Forbes.UA^[1].

2013: Consultations for RBC daily

In April, 2013 Leonid Bershidsky reported that he will help the new president of RBC Derk Sauer with updating of holding:

"Derk Sauer asked me to help a little him consultations and councils within conceived by it and edition of improvement of the RBC newspaper daily. I if Derk me asks to jump from Burzh Khalifa without parachute, will agree too because he thought up and created the qualitative Russian press, and also made a lot of good personally for me".

"At the same time: I do not work in staff of RBC and I have no management functions there. Therefore if you want to hold up someone in RBC daily to shame or, on the contrary, to praise, it to you to Pyotr Kiryan, the Chief Editor".

"It is already the second consulting project which I undertook (the first was in Kiev at the beginning of last year, with Focus). With some surprise I find out that people find useful the external help in such affairs as formalization of requirements to texts, a training of editors and reporters, building of a rubrication of the edition, production process, participation in processing of the model. It just in what I like to be engaged, – product, editorial work which purpose – to increase quality, without losing at the same time in technological effectiveness. If to whom it is necessary, I am ready to help".
