• 1997 - 2002 - the ambassador in Israel.

1989 - 1991 - the head of department of Management of the countries of the Middle East and North Africa the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.

1994 - 1997 - the associate director of Department of the Middle East and North Africa the MFA of Russia.

2002 - 2005 - the director of the department of the Middle East and North Africa the MFA of Russia.

2005 - 2011 - The ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation at League of Arab States^[3].

Since June, 2011 - the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (supervises questions of the international relations with the countries of Africa and the Middle East).

Since January 23, 2012 - the special representative of the President of Russia on the Middle East^[4].

On July 6, 2011 - participated in the ceremonial meeting of Council of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society (IOPS) dated for a birthday of the initiator and inspirer of IPPO V.N. Hitrovo (on July 5, 1834)^[5].

2011 - took part in opening of the XI Festival of the Israeli cinema in Moscow^[6].

On May 30, 2012 - met the president Barzani in his residence in Salakhaddin to discuss strengthening of ties between Russia and Kurdistan^[7].

Bogdanov was called one of lobbyists of Iran. Konstanin Shuvalov is a great friend of Mikhail Bogdanov (the former ambassador of the Russian Federation in Iran) it is appointed from its giving to be responsible for cooperation of the Russian Federation with the international Islamic organizations.

September, 2011 - in network there was video in which Mikhail Bogdanov on the official car (A377MP97) frankly violates traffic regulations that falls or under the 2nd part of Article 12.16 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offences, or under the 3rd part of Article 12.15. Violation attracts imposing of an administrative penalty at the rate from one thousand to one thousand five hundred rubles^[12].
