Alexander Burkin was born on May 30, 1959 in Saratov.

Education

In 1982, Alexander Burkin graduated from the Astrakhan State Medical Institute named after A.V. Lunacharsky in medical and preventive specialization (medical doctor). In 2012, he received his second higher education at Astrakhan State University in the specialization of "jurisprudence," in 2021 - advanced training in the organization of health care at the RNIMU named after N.I. Pirogov.

Career

2008-2009

From 2008 to 2010 - First Deputy Minister of Health of the Astrakhan Region.

From 2008 to 2009 - Head of the Department of Epidemiology with a course in immunology at Astrakhan State Medical University.

2010-2014

From 2010 to 2014 - Chief Physician of the Regional Infectious Clinical Hospital named after A.M. Nichogi.

In 2014, he was appointed director for the medical part of the FSBI NMIZO FMBA of Russia.

2021: Appointment as Head of the Ministry of Health of Astrakhan Region

On August 19, 2021, it was announced the appointment of Alexander Burkina as the new head of the Ministry of Health of the Astrakhan Region. The corresponding order was signed by the governor of the region Igor Babushkin.

Burkin replaced Alexei Spirin, who led the department since 2020. Spirin's further career by August 19, 2021 is not specified. On his Facebook page, Alexei Spirin wrote that he initially had an agreement with the governor of the region, Igor Babushkin, on an anti-crisis format for work.
