2023: Appointment as General Director of Admiralty Shipyards

On December 12, 2023, Admiralty Shipyards JSC (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) announced the change of CEO. Instead of Andrei Veselov, the company was headed by Andrei Bystrov, who previously worked in it as deputy head of production.

As Kommersant writes with reference to the press service of USC, the decision to change the general director of Admiralteyskiye Shipyards JSC "is due to the need to change approaches to enterprise management in the face of current industry challenges." The general director of Infoline-Analytics, Mikhail Burmistrov, in a conversation with the newspaper, called the change in the head of the Admiralty Shipyards expected.

Problems with financing military orders and designing fishing vessels did not depend on the plant manager, however, the fact that it was not possible to maintain the stability of production activities and had to send some specialists to downtime in conditions when there is a critical shortage of personnel on the market is fraught with risks of losing personnel potential. And this problem could become one of the reasons for accelerating decisions on personnel changes, the expert notes.

According to him, the change of the USC management team will definitely affect the formation of the construction program and interaction with customers, and the experience and high competencies of the new head make it possible to look positively at the future of the enterprise.

In early December, Veselov, by order from December 1 to December 31, 2023, brought some of the employees into downtime "through the fault of the employer." During this period, "no presence at workplaces is required." As the 47news portal reported, the reasons for the downtime were associated with a decrease in production volumes and a lack of funding for orders 01573, 01574, as well as with the replacement of the supplier of the main equipment and, as a result, the need to redesign orders 02484, 02485.[1]
