In 1993 he graduated from the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute with a degree in Ship Equipment with the qualification of Mechanical Engineer.

Career

2023: Appointment as General Director of Admiralty Shipyards JSC

On April 18, 2023, it was announced the appointment of Andrei Veselov as the new general director of the Admiralty Shipyards (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation). Prior to that, he worked in the company as chief engineer.

Andrei Veselov became acting general director in January 2023. The appointment took place in connection with the sudden death of the former head of the plant, Alexander Buzakov, a month earlier.

According to the press service of Admiralty Shipyards JSC on April 18, 2023, for 30 years of work experience at the enterprise, Andrei Veselov has established himself as a highly qualified specialist, an experienced organizer of production, and a demanding manager. Under his leadership, dozens of ships and vessels were built, special technical means, including in the field of fulfilling the state defense order and military-technical cooperation. The company also noted that Andrei Veselov pays great attention to the introduction of new methods of management, organization and production planning. Supports the implementation of measures aimed at increasing the competitiveness of ships and vessels under construction, ensuring the expansion of the sales market, programs for the technical development of production, strategic marketing, and innovation policy.

The Admiralty Shipyards JSC added that with the participation of Veselov, the enterprise will continue to implement the federal target program for the development of the military-industrial complex, as well as carry out the construction of sections that will be part of the modern complex of non-nuclear underwater shipbuilding.^[1]

Andrei Veselov was awarded medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II and I degree.
