Agreement with UEC to train engineers to work on offshore engines
St. Petersburg Marine Technical University (SPbGMTU) and the United Engine Corporation (part of Rostec State Corporation) signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the Advanced Engineering School. The parties will jointly train highly qualified engineers who will work on offshore power plants. The UEC announced this on August 22, 2023.
The agreement was signed by the Deputy General Director - General Designer of UEC JSC Yuri Shmotin and Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of St. Petersburg State Technical University Denis Kuznetsov. The document is designed until 2030.
{{quote 'Within the framework of the agreement, SPbGMTU and UEC plan to organize the training of highly qualified engineers who will solve frontier problems aimed at optimizing the layout of the power plant and the unit for ships and ships. To achieve this goal, it is planned to implement joint research and development work, create promising laboratories and carry out the necessary additional professional training, "said Yury Shmotin, Deputy Director General and General Designer of UEC JSC. }}
Laboratories, experimental production, interactive complexes of advanced training, digital, "smart," virtual factories equipped with high-tech equipment, high-performance computing systems and specialized application software will appear on the basis of the PCH of the Marine Technical University .
The close interaction of the UEC and PISH SPbGMTU in the field of engineering personnel training will make it possible to reform the existing research and development system and create technologies and industrial samples of products that ensure technological independence, "said countriesDenis Kuznetsov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of St. Petersburg State Technical University. |
Launch of training programs focused on the application of domestic digital solutions
The Advanced Engineering School of St. Petersburg State Technical University has developed additional educational programs focused on the use of domestic digital solutions. The company ASCON announced this on April 27, 2023.
We are talking about such courses as "Tools and methods for designing underwater robotic objects in CAD," "Digital technologies for developing working design documentation," "Systems for managing engineering data and product life cyclePILOT: PLM," which are implemented in the Scientific and educational laboratory "Digital measuring systems and technologies of underwater robotics" in cooperation with ASCON, a Russian developer of engineering software.
Students of the Advanced Engineering School study the full range of computer-aided design capabilities in the KOMPAS-3D system: from creating parts in digital form to completing a complete set of design documentation for underwater robotic objects being developed.
The program development of PCH "Shipbuilding 4.0" provides for the creation of another course using domestic software - "POLINOM: MDM Industrial Enterprise Regulatory Reference Information Management System." It will allow you to master a modern digital platform for working with engineering directories, classifiers, regulations, standards applied in the industry.
Since 2017, when the authorized training center "ASCON - SPbGMTU" was opened at the university, we were actively engaged in the implementation of domestic software in our curricula, despite the opportunity to use foreign analogues. Within the framework of the PISH, we plan to introduce even more domestic digital products for different stages of production by training and their visual use in new laboratories, "said Denis Kuznetsov, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Instrumentation, Head of the Scientific and Educational Laboratory" Digital Measuring Systems and Technologies of Underwater Robotics "SPbGMTU. |
Additional educational programs are included in the curriculum of students of PISH "Shipbuilding 4.0" in excess of the usual program, 2-3 courses each semester. They are also available to already working specialists who want to improve their professional qualifications.
2022: Shipbuilding development in conjunction with Emperium
SPbGMTU and the Russian serial manufacturer of electric ships Emperium (part of the Sitronics Group) signed a corresponding cooperation agreement. This was announced by Sitronics Group on September 5, 2022.
As part of the agreement, the university, Emperium and Sitronics Group will exchange experience, disseminate best practices in the areas of cooperation in the framework of consultations, meetings, seminars and other events, and create joint commissions and working groups.
The parties are interested in cooperation in the areas of ship design and production, including alternative traction, the development of technologies in the field of navigation and the educational process using practical experience. The agreement is aimed at improving the efficiency of the innovative activities of the parties based on the experience of implementing research projects and world-class scientific and technical results in the field of shipbuilding.
Cooperation with Emperium LLC seems to be very profitable for Korabelka. Within the framework of the concluded agreement, we will be able to develop our competencies in the field of shipbuilding, including in the field of designing ships of various classes, in the development of ship control systems, navigation and cartographic systems. In addition, our interaction with Emperium will have a beneficial effect on improving the educational process, and students of St. Petersburg State Technical University will have the opportunity to practice in a modern shipbuilding company. told the rector of St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University Turichin Gleb Andreevich.

Among the developments of the Emperium company are river and lake class electric ships: Ecocruiser high-speed catamarans, Ecovolt vessels for water walks, excursions and passenger transportation, as well as Ecobus and Cityvolt vessels for use as electric water buses. The company's shipyard is located on the territory of the production complex in the city of Otradnoye, Leningrad Region. The company participates in the project of launching river electric vessels along the Moscow River. In addition, "Emperium" has contracts for the supply of Ecocruiser walking electric vehicles with a passenger capacity of up to 130 passengers for St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk and Nizhny Novgorod.
Sitronics Group develops domestic intelligent solutions for the digitalization of shipping, onboard electronic cartographic navigation systems, systems for remote monitoring of ships. Tests of the a-Navigation technology in real conditions were first demonstrated by the International Maritime Organization in 2021. For September 2022, it is used on the ships of the commercial fleet and will be installed on two ferries connecting St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
St. Petersburg State Maritime Technical University is an educational institution in which specialized world-class engineers for the design, construction and technical operation of sea vessels are trained at three main faculties. The expertise of our company in the development of solutions for the digitalization of shipping and the production of electric ships is important for the transfer of practical experience during the educational process. It is interesting for us to cooperate with the university in terms of using the research base in creating promising solutions in shipping and in terms of developing the competencies and professionalism of potential personnel, commented on the president of Sitronics Group Nikolai Pozhidaev.
