Biography
Sergey Vladimirovich Chernovolenko in 1986 graduated from the Moscow Border Institute, commander of a motorized rifle company. In 1998, he became a graduate of the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, banks and banking. He took a course at INSEAD, the Growth through Service program.
Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, passed the Center of Creative Leadership program for corporate vice presidents.
Since 1994, he served as Assistant President of International Bank of Trade & Commerce.
1997: Head of Department at Xerox Russia
Sergey Chernovolenko joined Xerox in 1997 as head of the department of administrative work and security. For six years, he led various activities of Xerox Russia and the CIS.
2004: Head of Xerox in Turkey
In subsequent years, Sergey's career developed in other regions that are part of the Xerox DMO (Developing Market Operations) division, which is responsible for developing the corporation's business in emerging markets. So, in 2004, he headed the Xerox representative office in Turkey.
2007: Head of Xerox CIT in Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and Turkey
Since 2007, he was appointed vice president and CEO of Xerox CIT, which includes Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and Turkey.
2012: Vice President of Xerox DMO
In 2012, Mr. Chernovolenko was appointed to the post of Vice President for Development of the Consumables Business at Xerox DMO (Developing Markets Operations).
2013: Cisco Head of Russia
From November 1, 2013 to December 2014, Sergey Chernovolenko led Cisco's business in Russia. In this post, he replaced Pavel Betsis, who decided to move to another job after four years of activity as a Cisco business manager in the Russian Federation.
2015: Head of Xerox Eurasia
In January 2015, Sergey Chernovolenko again returned to Xerox as head of Xerox Eurasia, where he replaced Vladimir Lavrov, who decided to leave the company. In this position, Sergey is responsible for business development and strategic positioning of Xerox in Eurasia in the field of promotion and maintenance of equipment, technologies and services for information and document management.
2018: Softline Global CEO
On May 22, Softline, a provider of IT products and solutions in emerging markets, announced the appointment of Sergei Chernovolenko as global CEO. The corresponding decision was made by the board of directors of the company. Softline founder Igor Borovikov will focus on solving strategic issues of the company's development as chairman of the board of directors of the group of companies.
The Global CEO of Softline is entrusted with the following tasks:
- Continue the dynamic growth and development of Softline as a global IT company with a focus on cybersecurity and services;
- Increase profitability and efficiency of the company;
- Continue the development of a team of professionals in business areas and global territories within the framework of the "One Softline" concept.

2022: Move to Softline COO
On March 4, 2022, Softline announced that Sergei Chernovolenko would step down as CEO and take over as chief operating officer. Instead, the holding will be headed by Softline International President Roy Harding. Read more here.
According to information published as of March 15, 2022 on the official Softline website, Sergei Chernovolenko has been the chief operating officer of the company since March.
