2023: Appointment as CEO of Takeda Russia
In mid-May 2023, it became known about the appointment of Yulia Chetverikova to the post of general director of the Russian representative office of Takeda. In this position, she replaced Elena Kartasheva, who headed the company since 2019. Kartasheva was appointed head of the union of TuRC countries (Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan) in Takeda, whose headquarters are located in Istanbul.
Before heading Takeda Pharmaceuticals LLC, Yulia Chetverikova worked in this company as director of the Takeda gastroenterology and neurology division. Previously, Chetverikova also held leadership positions in international pharmaceutical companies, including Novartis and Abbott. Officially, Yulia Chetverikova took office as General Director of Takeda in Russia on April 1, 2023.
Takeda Pharmaceutical is a Japanese pharmaceutical company headquartered in Osaka. The basis of the Takeda portfolio is prescription drugs, including for the treatment of cancer, neurological, metabolic diseases, cardiovascular disorders. Takeda has its own plant in Russia, located in the Yaroslavl region (as of May 2023).
In April 2023, the Kommersant newspaper, citing sources, claimed that Takeda was considering options for selling its Yaroslavl enterprise. In response to this publication, the company said that its plant in Yaroslavl is operating normally, and it itself refrains from commenting on publications in the media about the future fate of the enterprise.
Earlier, the press service of the Takeda representative office in the Russian Federation told TASS that the company "is doing everything possible for the uninterrupted supply of drugs to all Russian patients in need of them."[1]
