2023: Sentence - suspended sentence for extortion of 1.2 million rubles from the vice president of Promsvyazbank

On July 6, 2023, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced Inna Churilova, administrator of the Infernal Grandmother Telegram channel, to four years in prison, and also imposed a fine of 1 million rubles for extortion from the top manager of Promsvyazbank Alexander Ushakov.

In addition to Churilova, two more administrators appear in the case - Olga Arkharova and Alexandra Bayazitova. Arkharova at first partially admitted her guilt, but later refused her testimony, Bayazitova pleaded not guilty. Churilova fully admitted her guilt and repented of the crime. Her case was set aside in a separate proceeding. The investigation into two other defendants by July 6, 2023 continues.

All three were detained on August 10, 2022 and charged under paragraph "b" of part 3 of article 163 ("Extortion in order to obtain property on an especially large scale") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The victims in the case were an employee of Promsvyazbank Alexander Ushakov. According to the investigation, the defendants demanded 1.2 million rubles from him.

Convicted Inna Churilova apologized to Alexander Ushakov and has already paid him 420 thousand rubles of damage. The prosecutor's office noted that the journalist complied with the conditions of the transaction concluded with the investigation.

The investigation believes that Bayazitova served as editor-in-chief and correspondent, and Churilova and Arkharov were looking for clients who were ready to advertise or anti-advertising in telegram channels (in addition to Infernal Grandmother, we are talking about such channels as Financial Guard, Nebrekhnya, Media Technologist, Myasorubka and E-Magic).

Lawyer Elena Fedulova, defending Arkharova, told RIA Novosti that a post about Ushakov was published on the Infernal Grandmother Telegram channel, which included his criminal record. According to the lawyer, Ushakov personally wrote to Churilova's chat bot as the administrator of Hell's Grandmother with a request to publish a positive post about him, she refused.^[1]
