2024: Sentence - 8.5 years in prison for bribes in exchange for non-transfer of data to the department's IT systems

The former deputy head of the capital's Federal Tax Service No. 15, Elena Ishkhanova, was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for taking a bribe. The decision on this was made by the Cheremushkinsky District Court of Moscow on September 20, 2024. Ishkhanova was found guilty of a crime under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, for systematic receipt of bribes in exchange for non-transfer of data to the information systems of the tax department. According to the press service of the capital's prosecutor's office, the real execution of the sentence was postponed until her child reaches the age of 14.

As TASS will move, Ishkhanova, holding from 2016 to 2018 the position of head of the department for registration and registration of taxpayers in IFNS No. 28, regularly received funds for personal bank cards from the entrepreneur. The amount of the bribe amounted to more than ₽1,8 million. For this illegal remuneration, Ishkhanov deliberately did not transmit to another tax inspectorate information about the actual absence of legal entities at the registration addresses indicated by the bribe giver. Its actions allowed the entrepreneur to avoid checks and created the conditions for the functioning of fictitious companies.

The investigation established that Ishkhanova received bribes for two years, actively helping the entrepreneur evade tax obligations. As a result of her actions, the rights of bona fide taxpayers were violated and conditions were created for illegal activities.

The court sentenced Ishkhanova to imprisonment with serving in a general regime colony, and also banned him from holding public positions related to the performance of the functions of a government official for five years. When sentencing, it was taken into account that the convict has a minor child, which became the basis for a delay in the execution of the sentence.[1]
