Alexander Garmashov

Biography, career

Was born on December 4, 1953 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in family of doctors – military and children's. Parents are radical Leningrad residents. In 1954, after demobilization of the father, the family returned to Leningrad. In 1976 graduated from the Leningrad mechanical institute of   D.F. Ustinov (the former Military and mechanical institute) in "Production of aircraft".

With 1976 worked in Central Research Institute Gidropribor as the engineer, the lead engineer. In 1992 became the lead engineer of the St. Petersburg long-distance and international station. In 1994 came to Northwest GSM company where held a position of the CIO.

The CEO of Petter Service company, the Russian developer of the systems of billing, from 1996 to April, 2012.

Other activities, hobby

Hobbies - programming (at the level of small applications and toys for cell phones and the CPC) and mountain skiing.

In student's years, receiving profession of the design engineer, Alexander Garmashov optionally was engaged in programming. "It was time when everything was interesting to students, – Alexander Petrovich tells. – For example, "on potato" read scientific magazines in the evenings and discussed articles. And programming was absolutely res nova and carried away especially. Besides, money was necessary – earned additionally the fact that wrote programs for theses of graduate students".
