Jim Wong was born in 1958, graduated from the Taiwan university on mathematical specialty, later - received MBA degree in the USA. In 1999 it was awarded awards for effective management.

Joined Acer in 1986, Wong before the appointment of Acer as the president headed division of IT Products Group and took a position of the senior vice president of the company.

As the president J.T. Wang ran Acer together with the chairman of the board Jay Ti J.T. Wang who also continued to fulfill duties of the CEO which it temporarily assumed after Gianfranco Lanci resignation.

In a noyabryaa of 2013 after resignation Jay Ti Wong, Jim Wong is appointed the CEO of Acer since January, 2014.

On November 21, 2013 the Acer corporation announced resignation of the president Jim Wong who since January, 2014 had to undertake duties of the chief executive officer (CEO).

The press service of Acer explained that Wong's resignation is caused by unimportant financial results. When Wong was appointed to a role of the successor at the beginning of November, he reported that he intends to increase efficiency of the company and to strengthen its brand. However analysts did not exclude the scenario in which loses the place including it.

On the same day also announced Acer Stan Shih election as the new chairman of the board of corporation and abolition of a position of the CEO. Duties of the CEO will be transferred to the chairman of the board or the president of corporation that will allow to accelerate decision making process.

The company intends find the new president who will take room made by Jim Wong in the shortest terms. Specific candidates are not called[1].
