Since 1980 worked at different sections in the central bureau Siemens and abroad. During the work in representative office in the USA replaced a name from Josef with Joe and simplified writing of a surname (with Käser on Kaeser).

2021: Departure from the job of the president and chairman of the board of Siemens AG
On February 1, 2021 Joe Kezer gave government of technology concern Siemens AG with the headquarters in Munich to the successor Roland Bush. This step became completion of transfer of affairs to the next generation of the management of Siemens.
Siemens leaves one of the most outstanding leaders. Joe Kezer created the company in the form in which it is known now, and created a reliable basis for the next generations. Joe Kezer worked in Siemens more than 40 years, 7 of them – as the president and the chairman of the board. During this time it updated and completely reformed activity of the company. Corporate strategy "Vision-2020" became the first major step. With strategy implementation "Vision-2020+" Kezer and his command considerably transformed Siemens conglomerate to three industry companies: for February, 2021 the ecosystem of Siemens includes Siemens AG, Siemens Healthineers and Siemens of the Power Engineering Specialist company.
Shareholders approved this strategy and saw real result: during the period from July, 2013 to January 25, 2021 the cost of investments into Siemens AG grew more than twice. The comprehensive income of shareholders made more than 136%. DAX-30 stock index (Germany) for the same period made only 64%. Besides, the cost of Siemens Healthineers grew from 28 billion euros to nearly 50 billion euros, "Siemens of Power" – from about 16 billion euros to 24 billion euros from the moment of registration of these companies on the stock exchange. During Kezer's work as the president of Siemens it was succeeded to increase considerably the corrected profitability of EBITA (the industrial business directions): last indicator (2020 f.) made 14.3%.
