Biography

Was born on August 10, 1963 in Chelyabinsk.

1980-1985 - graduated from the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers (MITE), faculty "Automatic Equipment and ADP Equipment".

1987-1989 postgraduate study of MIIT, Elektoronika department. Worked at department of MIIT electronics as the research engineer.

In 1989 Kravtsov decided to be engaged in business. As the deputy CEO at first the cross-industry enterprise "Kraft", and then Kraft-91 company. Directed one of the import firms of component parts largest at that time.

In 1991 along with distribution the company headed for assembly and delivery to customers of ready computers.

In 1993 together with the partner became one of founders of "Kraftway Corporation of PLS".

In 1995 after the partner's exit from business became the CEO of "Kraftway Corporation of PLS".

On December 27, 2009 Alexey Kravtsov was elected the president of the Russian Skating Union (RSU). An interview after appointment here. "In terms of sport I am more likely an athlete and the fan, - he said, - and I want to place accents correctly at once: I came to ICR, first of all, to create conditions for high-quality work, for achievement of the highest result by our athletes. How exactly – at the expense of own resources or interaction with federal and regional governing bodies of sport". Among main objectives of the activity Alexey Kravtsov called a successful performance of the national team at the Olympic Games in Sochi and also promoting of skates among children and adults.

Alexey Kravtsov has two sons: one from first marriage and one from the second. The famous TV host Yulia Bardovskikh became the second spouse of Alexey Kravtsov in 2007. This wedding became the first in Yulia's life. She got acquainted with future husband one year prior to a wedding. The boy in Kravtsov and Bordovskikh's family was born in January, 2008.

2016: Doping was consciously thrown to athletes from Russia

The Russian Skating Union will prove that banned drug meldonium was thrown to three Russian athletes consciously. It was said on March 9, 2016 by the president of the sports organization Alexey Kravtsov at a press conference in Moscow. At the same time he emphasized that he is not inclined to look for in the circumstances signs of conspiracy theory and considers it necessary to find guilty that in an organism of athletes meldonium^[1] is detected^[2].

In our specific case there is very high probability of the fact that banned drug was thrown to three athletes consciously. And we will prove it. According to us, it was made by their teammates — Kravtsov noted. — Whether there was it a global plot, or not, but signs that in several sports at the same time there is a similar situation, can direct at certain doubts. But our task not to look for a global plot, and to find guilty that in an organism of athletes this medicine was detected.

Among those athletes whose doping tests yielded positive result, there were also a tennis-player Maria Sharapova, the figure skater Ekaterina Bobrova, the volleyball player Alexander Markin and the weight-lifter Alexey Lovchev. All of them used meldonium which was included in the list of banned drugs since January 1, 2016.
