Biography

2019: Appointment as CEO of LG Electronics

On November 28, 2019, LG Electronics announced the appointment of Brian Kwon as the company's new CEO. He will officially take this position on December 1, replacing Cho Son Chzhina, who led the consumer electronics manufacturer for three years.

According to LG, 56-year-old Brian Kwon played an important role in the company during 30 years of work in it. During his career at LG, he changed several positions, including heading the production units for monitors, household appliances and smartphones.

The mobile business, which was headed by Kwon, suffers 10 consecutive quarterly losses by the end of November 2019. In addition, sales are declining in the division.

In addition to the change of CEO, LG Electronics announced other personnel changes at the highest level. Park Hyoung-sei will take the chair of the president of LG Home Entertainment, Morris Lee will become the new head of LG Mobile Communications, William Cho will take the post of Chief Strategic Officer.
