2020: State Award for the Development of the Russian Segment of the Internet
At the end of August 2020, designer Artemy Lebedev and the group's general director InfoWatch Natalia Kasperskaya were awarded state awards. The President Russia Vladimir Putin awarded them the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, for their contribution to the formation and development of the Russian segment. Artemy Lebedev Studio, which Lebedev founded in 1995, completed several thousand projects by the end of August 2020, including rebranding the logo and developing a Moscow metro scheme, creating logos for Crimea, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Poltava, Tashkent, Kostroma, Volokolamsk and other cities and regions.
Artemy Lebedev published a screenshot from the award document on his Instagram page. After that, ill-wishers began to write various nasty things about "corruption" and the like in the comments to the designers' post. However, there were also those who congratulated Artemy Lebedev on his achievement.
In early June 2020, RT released a video about voting on amendments to the Constitution, in which Lebedev also starred among famous Russians. Journalists noticed that Lebedev took part in the filming, although he had previously stated that he "saw elections in his coffin."
