Biography
Vladimir Lepin was born on July 28, 1959 in the city of Tambov. Doctor of Technical Sciences, Corresponding Member of RARAN, laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology.
Since 2001, he held senior positions at defense enterprises, including being the general designer for wearable weapons and combat equipment of military personnel.
Since January 2016, he has been heading Alloy. During his leadership at the JSC NPO "Alloy," the production of rockets for complexes for the Navy was resumed, the development of the modern MLRS "Tornado-S" was completed. Production was more than doubled. The state defense order 2016 was completed in full and ahead of schedule. As part of the diversification, serial production of civilian products has begun.
In June 2017, he was appointed interim director of the Techmash concern after the start of its reorganization.
On October 9, 2017, Vladimir Lepin was approved by the Supervisory Board of Rostec State Corporation as General Director of Techmash Concern. At the same time, he also continued to work as general director of the NPO "Alloy." As of the beginning of October 2017, the management of the cluster Armament of Rostec State Corporation is reorganizing both organizations.
As part of the implementation of the cluster strategy, Armament is undergoing the reorganization of Tehmash. Techmash will focus on the production of military and dual-use products, the implementation of the State Defense Order and the strengthening of the military-technical cooperation. 2021: Appointment of Kalashnikov as Head of Concern
On August 10, 2021, the Kalashnikov concern announced the appointment of Vladimir Lepin as the new general director. He replaced Dmitry Tarasov, who led the enterprise since 2019.
Through the press service of Kalashnikov, Lepin promised to prioritize his work with state customers, increase the portfolio of export contracts, as well as joint production of civilian and military products abroad.

The group also emphasized that under the leadership of Tarasov, a large-scale plan was implemented to reform the structure of Kalashnikov Group of Companies and the process of optimizing non-core assets began. Work was also carried out to sign a number of strategically important contracts.
