Biography
Sergey Evgenyevich Naryshkin was born on October 27, 1954 in Leningrad.
1978: The higher school of KGB
In 1978 he graduated from the Leningrad mechanical institute (Military Mechanical Institute) majoring in "engineer-radio mechanic".
Only in 2018 Sergei Naryshkin unexpectedly opened that worked in KGB. Earlier affirmed as the official biography that it worked as the expert of State committee on science and technology of the USSR and in the office of the economic adviser of Embassy of the USSR in Belgium.
According to Naryshkin, in 1978 after the termination of the Leningrad mekhinstitut he for two years was sent to the Higher school of KGB in Moscow then returned to Leningrad and defined for work in the Leningrad management of KGB. In 1980 he got acquainted with Vladimir Putin.
Naryshkin confirmed that together with future President Naumov studied at institute Decorated with the Order of the Red Banner (nowadays Academy of foreign intelligence) under an alias.
Afterwards Naryshkin got one more higher education at the St. Petersburg international institute of management as "economist". Knows English also French languages.
1982: Work in St. Petersburg
Since 1982 Naryshkin worked as the assistant to the vice rector of the Leningrad Polytechnical Institute (LPI) for the international scientific relations, the expert of the State committee on science and technology, the employee of the office of the economic adviser of Embassy of the USSR in Belgium, the assistant department head of foreign economic relations of LPI. According to some media, Naryshkin was in the service in bodies of KGB.
In 1992-1995 Naryshkin headed department of committee on economic development, and then committee on economy and finance of the mayor's office of St. Petersburg.
In 1995-1996 he held a post of the head of department of external investments of Promstroibank in St. Petersburg.
In 1997 Naryshkin returned on civil service and became the Head of Department of investments of the government of the Leningrad Region.
In 1998 he headed regional committee on the foreign economic and international relations.
2004: Chief of staff of the Government of the Russian Federation
In February, 2004 Naryshkin was given assignment in the Russian President Administration where he became the deputy chief of economic management.
On March 19, 2004 held a post of the deputy manager of government office.
On September 13, 2004 the decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin Naryshkin was appointed the chief of staff of the Government of the Russian Federation – the minister, having released Dmitry Kozak from this duty. On a post of the head of machinery of government Naryshkin was engaged in administrative reform, questions of public service and industrial policy. Was a part of the Russian-French council for economic and trade problems and the intergovernmental Russian-Bulgarian commission on economic and to sci-tech cooperation. In July, 2005 Naryshkin was appointed the commission chairman on carrying out administrative reform, in July, 2006 he became the member of presidium of council under the President of the Russian Federation for implementation of priority national projects.
2007: Deputy Prime Minister of Russia
On February 15, 2007 Naryshkin the decree of the president Putin was appointed the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. Next day it was announced that Naryshkin, will reserve a position of the head of governmental body. On September 12, 2007 Fradkov's government was dismissed, and Naryshkin became the acting as the Deputy Prime Minister. On September 14 on a post of the head of the government Victor Zubkov was approved, and on September 24 Naryshkin received the former post in new structure of an office.
2008: Head of the Russian President Administration
In March, 2008 presidential elections were won by the first Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. On May 7, 2008 he entered a position of the President of Russia then the government resigned the authority. On the same day the new president of the country signed the decree "About Abdication by the Government of the Russian Federation", having charged to members of the cabinet including to Naryshkin to continue to work until formation of the new Government of the Russian Federation. In several days it became known that Naryshkin was appointed the head of the Russian President Administration.
From 2005 to 2009 Naryshkin was the chairman of the board of directors of JSC Channel One and was a part of Board of Directors of Rosneft state company. In 2008 he was elected the chairman of the board of directors of shipping company JSC Sovcomflot. From this duty in October, 2011 it was released by Ilya Klebanov.
Naryshkin from 2006 to November, 2009 was the president of the All-Russian federation of swimming.
2011: Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation
In December, 2011 Naryshkin was elected in the State Duma of the sixth convocation from a batch United Russia and resigned as the head of Presidential Administration. On December 21 he was elected deputies to a post of the Chairman of the State Duma. In November, 2012 Naryshkin entered United Russia.
2012: Accession to United Russia
In November, 2012 the speaker of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin entered a party United Russia. He was admitted to the Kingisepp department of a batch. Local United Russia party members made the decision unanimously.
The day before, on November 22, the leader of city department Alexander Sosnin said that Naryshkin several times was in Kingisepp. "We know it, its work and therefore are configured on adoption of the positive solution", - the United Russia party member told.
Sergei Naryshkin announced intention to enter United Russia at a meeting of fraction on November 10. According to him, membership in a batch will allow it to manage the State Duma more effectively. At the end of October Vedomosti wrote that Naryshkin will enter a party and will be engaged in it in the Historical Memory project.
For November, 2012 in fraction of United Russia 238 people consist. Approximately the fifth part of them do not consist in a batch.
2016: Appointment as the head of Foreign Intelligence Service
In September, 2016 the Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested Sergei Naryshkin to head Foreign Intelligence Service.
The offer to head SVR was heard at Vladimir Putin's meeting with Sergei Naryshkin and Mikhail Fradkov.
V. Putin: Sergey Evgenyevich, State Duma elections, result to us ended it is known. You made a serious contribution to this general work. Previous years you headed the State Duma, were a speaker. Before worked as the head of Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.

Mikhail Efimovich (Fradkov - an editor's note) heads this service within nine years. It as we set now, one of records on time of stay in this position. During this time, really, the service took very big steps in the direction of strengthening, working in conditions new absolutely. Also strengthening of personnel structure means, return from such major structure in state mechanism as investigation, in terms of ensuring activity of the highest institutes of the power means.
Sergey Evgenyevich, I want to wish you success. You perfectly realize as well as all of us in what situation now we are, are how important progress of this service for stable, reliable development of our country as far as it is important in time to stop the threats arising concerning Russia not to allow their growth, and, on the contrary, to work so that they did not arise, at early stages to neutralize these threats, well and to work for a positive, I mean cooperation with our partners on the main directions, first of all on the direction of fight against terror, and, of course, through providing timely, qualitative, reliable information to the president, the Government of the Russian Federation we could make the verified, weighed decisions for the benefit of the Russian people.
