Biography

Born in 1957 in Moscow. In 1980 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Moscow Medical Dental Institute. N.A. Semashko, then residency with a degree in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation.

In 1989 he defended his thesis on the topic: "Artificial ventilation in victims with severe traumatic brain injury." For more than 15 years he worked as a resuscitator at the Institute of Neurosurgery. N.N. Burdenko.

He has been engaged in healthcare entrepreneurship since 1991, having founded, in partnership with colleagues and like-minded people, the OMB company, which began to specialize in the distribution of medical equipment and consumables.

In 1995, he went to an exhibition of medical equipment in Dusseldorf to arrange the supply of equipment and consumables to Russian clinics. A year later, he founded the "Independent Laboratory INVITRO," which began to serve first corporate clients - state and private medical institutions, embassies, and so on, and then take tests from the population. A.Yu. Ostrovsky headed the company as CEO.

From 2002 to 2004, he studied at the Higher School of Management of the Higher School of Economics under the Executive MBA program.

In 2006, Ostrovsky created a second medical company - a network of clinics "Лечу.ру."

Since 2011, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the INVITRO Independent Laboratory. In the same year he joined the board of directors of the Russian Franchise Association. The INVITRO brand remains the holder of the BYBRAND National Golden Franchise Award year after year. In terms of market volume, it ranks first Russia in (also presented To Ukraine in and in) Belarus and is included in the world TOP-list of participants in the laboratory diagnostics market.

In 2013, Ostrovsky founded the 3D Bioprinting Solutions laboratory to explore the possibilities of bioprinting and learn how to print human organs.

2023: Sale of INVITRO

The founder and owner of the Invitro network of laboratories, Alexander Ostrovsky, sold the company to businessman Roman Mironchik. This became known in July 2023. Read more here.
