2024: Appointment as Head of the Department of Health of the Kurgan Region

In February 2024, Elena Ostrovsky headed the Department of Health of the Kurgan Region. In this post, he replaced Alexei Sigidaev.

Sigidaev led the Kurgan Department of Health for two years. His labor contract, which expired on February 6, 2024, was not renewed. Alexey Sigidaev will continue to head the Department of Clinical Disciplines of the Tyumen State Medical University in Kurgan.

According to the government of the Kurgan region, as the head of the regional Department of Health, Alexei Sigidaev has done a lot of work to improve efficiency, modernization of the regional health care system, unification of medical institutions in the districts with the creation of inter-district hospitals and their branches, solving issues of staffing, successful implementation of federal and regional programs for the repair and construction of hospitals and FAPs, including the completion of the construction of a children's clinic in the Zaozerny and the surgical building of the oncological dispensary, equipping medical institutions with new equipment and transport, introducing new approaches and methods of treatment. Sigidaev himself commented on his departure from the position of the head of the Department of Health of the Kurgan Region as follows:

Grateful to the governor for the invitation and support throughout my time here. Thanks to everyone who helped make decisions in this difficult work that helped improve the quality of medical care. Together we managed to resolve a number of key issues. I will remember the work in the Kurgan region and Kurgan with warmth, it gave a tremendous experience.

As for Elena Ostrovsky, there is little information about her in open sources. Before heading the Kurgan Department of Health, he worked in the department as deputy head.^[1]
