Parakhin Mikhail

Biography

Parakhin graduated from MEPhI in 2000 majoring in "Physics of bunches of the charged particles and hot plasma", in 2001 moved to the USA and began to work in Parascript company. In it it worked on projects on recognition and machining of handwritten texts.

2007-2009

The career in Parakhin in Microsoft began in 2007. Here he held the leader's position, and after a while and the chief engineer of the developer. In 2009 Parakhin became the head of department of multimedia search services of corporation, developed the Bing search service competing with Google and "Yandex" on the world scene.

2015: Transition to "Yandex"

Mikhail Parakhin came to "Yandex" in 2015 from Microsoft, and supervised work of several departments of development which are responsible for ranging, linguistics and quality of search.

2017: Technical director of "Yandex"

In 2017 Parakhin is appointed the technical director of the company, the zone of his responsibility included the leadership in development of the search portal and technology development of the company in general.

2019

Withdrawal from "Yandex"

In May, 2019 it was announced that the director of technologies Mikhail Parakhin leaves "Yandex" – in August, 2019 it together with family returns to the USA. After departure he will continue to advise "Yandex" and to help at the level of Board of Directors.

Vice president for technologies of Microsoft

The former director of technologies of the Russian Internet giant "Yandex" Mikhail Parakhin passed in September to work into Microsoft. He held a similar position in the American software corporation, having become her vice president for technologies.

Parakhin's appointment to a post of the vice president was announced by Chernomordikov Mikhail, the director of Microsoft of strategic technologies and innovations in retail and CPG Microsoft in Europe, Asia, Australia, in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Chernomordnikov posted online the corresponding publication on the personal page of Facebook.

2020: Re-election in Board of Directors of "Yandex"

On October 29, 2020 shareholders "Yandex" on annual meeting approved the updated structure of Board of Directors. It left the head Sberbank German Gref who is included into council since 2014.
