2020: A verdict on bribes by deliveries of the medical equipment
On September 9, 2020 the Gorno-Altaysk city court of Altai Republic pronounced a sentence concerning two former chief physicians of republican hospital who were found guilty of taking of bribes.
According to the investigation, from January, 2016 to March of the 2018th Fyodor Rau being the chief physician of republican hospital jointly with the deputy Sergey Bliznuk received 865 thousand rubles from one of legal persons for ensuring participation of the last in auctions for purchase of the medical equipment and drugs.
After a while Bliznuk who got afterwards from the same entrepreneur a bribe in the amount of 900 thousand rubles was appointed to the position of the chief physician of medical institution.
Inevitability of punishment for commission of the above-stated crimes by officials of republican hospital is reached thanks to harmonious interaction of investigating bodies and operational services of UFSB of Russia in Altai Republic — the press service of investigation department of ICR across Altai Republic reports. |
In court session medics did not admit guilt. They said that money was spent only for needs of hospital, however the court did not believe in these explanations.
The court found Fedor Rau and Sergey Bliznuk guilty of commission of crimes according to the Paragraph "and" and "v" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving by the official personally of a bribe in the form of money for illegal actions for benefit of the briber, a group of persons by previous concert in a large size). Rau was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment in maximum security penal colony and obliged to pay a penalty in the amount of 4.3 million rubles. To Bliznuk appointed 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment in maximum security penal colonies and a fine of 5 million rubles. The former heads of medical institution were detained in the courtroom.[1]
