Biography
Alexander Obod was born on October 9, 1964 in the city of Arsenyev, Primorsky Territory.
Education
In 1987 he graduated from the Khabarovsk Polytechnic Institute, in 2003 - the Russian Customs Academy.
Career
1992-2003
He began his career in the customs authorities in November 1992. He began his service as an inspector of the operational department of the Khabarovsk customs. In 2003, he was appointed First Deputy Head of the Khabarovsk Customs for the organization of customs control.
2006-2018
From 2006 to 2008 he headed the Khabarovsk Customs. From 2008 to 2010 he headed the Nizhny Novgorod customs. In 2010, he was appointed head of the Vnukovo customs. From 2011 to 2018, he headed the Sheremetyevo customs.
Since November 12, 2018 - Head of the North-West Customs Administration.
2024: Appointment as the first deputy head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia
At the end of October 2024, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree appointing Alexander Povod to the post of first deputy head of the Federal Customs Service (FCS). Previously, from February 2024, he worked in the department as deputy head.
According to Interfax, the post of first deputy head of the FCS became vacant after Ruslan Davydov left it in September, who was appointed EEC Minister for Customs Cooperation. Ruslan Davydov oversaw the work of electronic customs and the introduction of automatic procedures when declaring.
