Education

Richard van Wageningen has degree of the bachelor of the Polytechnical University of Groningen, the Netherlands (Groningen State Polytechnics, the Netherlands) on specialties "economy" and "electronics". In 2000 it also ended the program of management of the University of North Carolina, the USA (University of North Carolina, USA).

Biography

Richard van Vageningen has extensive managerial experience in telecommunication and the IT companies - providers of services and vendors of the equipment. Having begun the way in the Russian division AT&T, Richard held later executive positions in Lucent Technologies worldwide – Saudi Arabia, Portugal, the Netherlands.

  • In 2005 it returned to Russia to head British Telecom Russia.
  • Since 2010 Richard van Vageningen ran Linxdatacenter in Russia.
  • In September, 2013 Richard van Vageningen was appointed the CEO of Orange Business Services in Russia and the CIS.

In September, 2013 Orange Business Services announced Richard van Vageningen's appointment the CEO in Russia and the CIS. He released Zhoanblank Christof who, which will continue career in Orange Business Services at the global level [[Zhoanblank Christof|]] from this duty.

The company expects that appointment of the new CEO will support integration of the Russian division into the European and global structure of Orange which began in 2013. The main objective as the CEO before van Vageningen delivers increase in income from the basic telecommunication services and IT services provided to medium and large business – both Russian, and international.

In February, 2015 Richard van Vageningen, the CEO of Orange Business Services in Russia and the CIS, assumed subsidiary duties of the head of international sales of Orange Business Services outside France.

The direction of international sales is a part of new business division Orange Business Services on development of the international business (International Business) outside France which will support the further successful growth of the company at the global level. Helmut Rayzinger, the executive vice president for development of the international business of Orange Business Services heads new business division. As the head of international sales Richard van Vageningen will be engaged in support of the international and interregional sales in Orange Business Services.

It combines a position of the head of international sales with a position of the CEO of Orange Business Services in Russia and the CIS. As the CEO of Orange Business Services in Russia and the CIS Richard van Vageningen completely is responsible for business of Orange Business Services in Russia and the CIS.

In February, 2017 it became known that the CEO of Orange Business Services in Russia and the CIS Richard van Wageningen undertook the management of the new macroregion of IMEAR (indirect sales, the Middle East, Africa and Russia). At the same time it also saved the current position. The region integrated the growing markets of Russia, the Middle East and Africa, having created an opportunity for exchange of experience between these clusters in such key investment directions as "the smart cities" and Internet of Things.
