Biography

Irina Shapoval was born in the city of Okha, Sakhalin Region. In 1990 she graduated from the Khabarovsk Polytechnic Institute, and in 2006 - the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

She served in senior positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Khabarovsk Territory, FMS of Russia. Since January 2014, she worked as Deputy Head of the Department of Information Technologies, Communications and Information Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (DITSiZI), since April 2015 - First Deputy Head of DITSiZI.

In June 2017, President Vladimir Putin awarded Irina Shapoval the rank of Major General of the Internal Service.

On June 26, 2019, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed an order appointing Irina Shapoval as deputy head of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

Shapoval became the fifth deputy head of Rosstat Pavel Malkov.

According to TAdviser Pavel Malkov, Irina Shapoval is responsible for the development of internal information and telecommunication infrastructure and information systems that ensure statistical production, including the decisions necessary for the 2020 All-Russian Population Census.

Awards

She was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, II degree, departmental awards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Federal Migration Service of Russia, the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of Russia, the FSTEC of Russia and the FSSP of Russia, and has the honorary title "Master of Communications."
