2014-2016
In 2014, Yevgeny Solodilin took over as first deputy general director of Ramport Aero (operator of Zhukovsky airport). In 2016, Evgeny Solodilin simultaneously headed the company "Gia Cargo" - an investor and operator of a cargo terminal in Zhukovsky.
2022: Appointment as CEO of Red Wings Airline
On July 12, 2022, it was announced that Yevgeny Solodilin was appointed to the post of general director of Red Wings airline instead of Evgeny Klyucharev, who had been in charge of the first carrier since 2014. The reasons for Klyucharev's dismissal were not reported.
Solodilin plans to adjust the carrier's strategy, securing its focus on international flights and replenishing the fleet with Tu-204 aircraft. Before heading Red Wings, Evgeny Solodilin was the CEO of Ramport Aero, the operator of Zhukovsky Airport.
I see my task in the further development of the large-scale project Red Wings to create a reference operator of Russian equipment.... Of course, the airline's strategy will be adjusted both in terms of the fleet and in terms of the development of the route network. The most important task is to qualitatively prepare for the operation of the MS-21 liner. I also consider it important to return to operation of the Tu-204, there are still promising international and regional niches, - the words of Red Wings of the new general director of the airline are quoted in the message. |
Commenting on Solodilin's competencies in aviation, a Kommersant source noted that "Zhukovsky's management had quite successful experience in creating WeGo Air, later sold and renamed North-West," and also took part in the creation and management of SkyGates Airlines. Some interlocutors of the publication suggested that Klyucharev's decision is associated with the upcoming difficulties in the aviation industry and problems in finding spare parts and consumables.
By mid-July 2022, there are 17 SSJ100 aircraft in the Red Wings fleet, the airline operates flights to 60 international destinations and 30 regional Russian routes bypassing Moscow. Red Wings is one of the ten largest Russian airlines, specializing in scheduled and charter passenger transportation.[1]
