2024: Appointment as CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation
On November 5, 2024, it became known that United Aircraft Corporation Vadim Badekha, the former head (UEC), would become the new general United Engine Corporation director (UAC). In the new position, he will replace, Yuri Slyusar which by presidential decree Russia Vladimir Putin was appointed acting governor. Rostov region
According to the press service of Rostec, under the leadership of Vadim Badekha, UEC has successfully implemented the task of increasing the production of high-tech products. The production of gas turbine engines was increased several times, and the tasks of state defense order were solved in full and on time. Programs for the transformation of UEC enterprises and large-scale re-equipment of production were also launched. During his leadership, mass production of PD-14 engines for medium-haul aircraft began. The first stage of testing the engine-demonstrator of high-thrust PD-35 technologies, which was created for the first time in the history of domestic engine building, was successfully completed, the state corporation added.
A Vedomosti source from Badekha entourage calls him a "cautious reformer." Fedor Borisov, chief expert of the Institute of Transport Economics and Transport Policy at the Higher School of Economics, notes that Badekha will have to solve a number of important problems as head of the UAC. These include ensuring the implementation of the state defense order and bringing the family of import-substituted passenger aircraft to serial production as soon as possible.
Market participants note that the UAC needs a new operating model. The corporation will have to establish "healthy team coordination" with the UEC to launch new products. Sources of the Kommersant newspaper add that Badekha has competencies that are expected to end the "cold war between aircraft manufacturers and engine manufacturers." We are talking about mutual unofficial reproaches around the situation with the supply of power plants and aircraft.[1][1][1][1]
