2022: Appointment as CEO of STI Foundation

On January 19, 2022, Vadim Medvedev was appointed the new Director General of the Project Support Fund of the National Technology Initiative (STI Foundation). In this post, he replaced Kirill Ruzhensky.

Before heading the STI Foundation, Medvedev worked as director of the Department of Innovation and Advanced Studies of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The STI Foundation has already established itself as a professional and reliable partner of the technological business, universities and scientific organizations, and state authorities. At a new stage of its development, the fund should solve the strategic tasks of the country's innovative development, based on five years of experience in implementing STI and using new solutions, making state support funds truly "smart money."

As TASS recalls, by January 2022, the NTI Fund finances the activities of the NTI Competence Centers and Infrastructure Centers, organizes technological competitions for the implementation of the National Technology Initiative as an operator. As part of the Digital Economy program, the fund supports selected projects of leading companies and leading research centers in the digital economy. Under the auspices of STI, there are 16 centers of competence in augmented and virtual reality technologies, artificial intelligence, photonics, neurotechnology, robotics and mechatronics.

In 2021, the RVC transferred to the fund the functions of the STI project office in terms of providing project management, organizational, technical and expert-analytical support, information and financial support for the implementation of projects in this area.[1]
