Biography

Born in 1972 in Kyiv, Ukraine. He graduated from the Physics and Mathematics School. During his studies, he was an active participant in Olympiads of various levels in physics, in 1988 he took first place at the All-Union Olympiad.

Even at school, Vadim Tereshchenko started programming. In 1989, studying in the 10th grade, he created two computer programs, which the Ministry of Education of the Ukrainian SSR (Ukrainian SSR) later used in its activities.

He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Faculty of General and Applied Physics, writing a diploma on the topic "Building combined classifiers of symbols." After graduating from the university, he defended his thesis on the topic "Systems for entering handwritten text." Fluent in English.

Vadim Tereshchenko is the author of numerous publications in the field of optical character recognition, holder of more than 10 Russian and international patents.

In 1992, Vadim joined ABBYY as Deputy Director of the Research & Development, R&D Department. He then served as FineReader Project Manager and Vice President for OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Since 2005, he moved to the position of CFO of the company.

Awards

In 2003, Vadim Tereshchenko was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation for achievements in the field of science and technology.

Married with 3 children.
