Zavalev Valentin Ivanovich

Valentin Zavalev was born on June 13, 1958 in the Engels district of the Saratov region.

Education

In 1981 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Saratov State Medical Institute.

In 1983, he studied in clinical residency in the specialty "Surgery" on the basis of the Saratov State Medical Institute.

In 2005, he received his second higher education with a degree in Jurisprudence on the basis of the Volga Academy of Public Service named after P.A. Stolypin.

Career

2023: Appointment of the deputy head of the government of the Ryazan region

At the end of March 2023, Valentin Zavalev was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Ryazan Region for the social sphere. He will oversee the following regional departments:

• Ministries of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Ryazan Region
• Ministries of Education of the Ryazan Region;
• Ministries of Health of the Ryazan Region;
• Ministry of Culture of the Ryazan Region.

The candidacy for this position was chosen for a very long time and carefully. The block that this deputy chairman oversees is key. Therefore, they were looking for a person with specialized work experience both at the regional and federal levels, with high responsibility and appropriate skills and competencies, - said the Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov.

As reported on the website of the government of the Ryazan region, Valentin Zavalev in a new position will be responsible for the following questions:

• labour and employment;
• social protection of the population, family and childhood;
• public pension and social insurance;
• demographics and family politics;
• supporting gifted children;
• general and vocational education;
• organization of interaction with higher educational institutions located in the Ryazan region;
• health care;
