Mikhail Valov is a graduate of the Siberian State Aerospace University named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev. He began working at Reshetnev JSC in 2005 as an engineer. Since October 2022, he served as deputy general designer, and since the beginning of 2025 - general designer. He was responsible for the technical implementation of projects for the creation of spacecraft and systems for various purposes for the Russian orbital group.

2025: Appointment of Academician M.F. Reshetnev as General Director of Information Satellite Systems JSC

On October 10, 2025 JSC "Information Satellite Systems" named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev " Roscosmos , Mikhail Valov was appointed to the post of General Director (Reshetnev JSC, enterprise). In this post, he replaced, Evgenia Nesterova who resigned of his own free will.

Roscosmos reports that the decision to appoint Valov as the head of Reshetnev JSC opens up opportunities to update the management approach and accelerate the necessary transformations. Within the framework of these changes, a special commission will be formed from among the leading industry organizations and institutions to improve the efficiency of the enterprise. This commission will oversee the implementation of production programs and the development of a set of measures for the financial, economic and organizational improvement of the activities of Reshetnev JSC. Roscosmos will take control of the relevant events. Over the years of his work, Valov has made a significant contribution to the development of domestic space technology, the state corporation notes.

Reshetnev "specializes in the creation of spacecraft for communication, television broadcasting, relay, navigation and geodesy. The company acts as the lead contractor for key projects within the framework of priority government programs in the field of space activities.[1]
