Biography

In 1986, Guy Wilner graduated from Oxford Brookes University, a bachelor of science in engineering.

At the dawn of his career, he wrote programs in Assembler and C for Philips NV in Paris and Vienna and worked with CDROM, Smart Card and Minitel technologies.

From 1992 to 1998 he worked at the Compagnie Générale des Eaux (later renamed Vivendi Group) in London, Budapest and Hungarian Szeged.

In 1998, he was one of the founders of the IXEurope data center. As CEO of IXEurope, Wilner raised venture capital of about $100 million, and the company's income in the first three years increased by 600%. Later, Equinix Corporation acquired this data center for $555 million. The resulting company is called Equinix Europe.

2012: IXcellerate Co-Founder

In 2012, he co-founded IXcellerate, a data center company. He is its CEO.

Guy Wilner is also a member of the board of operators of Teraco data centers in South Africa and Lamda Hellix in Greece.

2017: TAdviser interview

In April 2017, Guy Wilner in an interview with TAdviser told how the Russian data center market and its company are developing in this market, as well as about the features of doing business in Russia.

2019: Appointment of IXcellerate as Head of the Advisory Council

On November 18, 2019, it became known that IXcellerate formed the Advisory Council, which was headed by Guy Wilner, CEO, and Frank Hassett, a veteran of the world data center industry, became its first member. More details here.

2021: Leaving the post of CEO of IXcellerate

On July 6, 2021, IXcellerate announced that Guy Wilner had resigned as CEO and will now continue to lead the company as chairman of the board of directors, focusing on developing a strategy, building relations with investors and international customers.
