2025: Arrest for bribes and fraud worth 100 million rubles
On February 20, 2025, it became known that Ivan Yudakov, Deputy General Director of TsNIImash (head institute of Roscosmos), was charged with fraud and bribery. By decision of the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow, the man was sent under house arrest.
According to TASS, Yudakov is accused of committing crimes under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code (taking a bribe on an especially large scale) and Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale). According to the first of these paragraphs, punishment is provided in the form of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years with a fine of up to 70 times the amount of a bribe or without it, according to the second - in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years with a fine of up to 1 million rubles or in the amount of the convict's salary or other income for a period of up to three years.
The criminal case is related to the theft of more than 100 million rubles from TsNIImash. The second person involved is businessman Mikhail Storm, who was charged under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code. TASS law enforcement agencies reported that Yudakov and Storm are cooperating with the investigation. They did not object to satisfying the investigator's petition to extend the preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
TsNIImash is the main analytical center of Roscosmos in the field of system-wide research into the problems of the development of rocket and space technology in Russia with a wide range of tasks. The institute includes the Mission Control Center, which provides comprehensive mission control for manned and automatic spacecraft, as well as the Russian segment of the ISS.[1]
