2021: Advanced BMC for Rikor Access System Server Platforms

The Rickor R & D team announced on February 16, 2021 the release of an expanded version of the BMC management system for RAS (Rikor Access System) server platforms. The basic RAS functionality already contains most of the most necessary functions, including full remote server management. Additional management functionality can be provided to partners on request for an additional fee.

The advanced BMC module provides the ability to send e-mail messages to the administrator about the state of the server, the functionality of visualizing the performance of the server sensors and the ability to graphically represent them. Additionally, the temperature of the Server Extended Thermal Control subsystem is zoned. This module improves the cooling efficiency of the space inside the server housing, reducing acoustic noise.

"At BMC RAS, we have provided a tool for software customization to meet the requirements of our partners. The cost of the expanded version of BMC RAS is comparable to Asian analogues, while the opportunities are at the level of world manufacturers, "said Boris Ivanov, vice president of development at Ricor.

BMC RAS was developed on the basis of an open code project (OPEN BMC) by its own programmers and staff engineers. Ricor provides system users with access to source code for further certification.

The updated firmware of the BMC RAS Ricor control module will be installed on all 5000 and 6000 series server platforms manufactured by the company.

As a Russian ODM manufacturer, Ricor also announces the possibility of adapting the presented version of BMC to individual partner requests.

2020: Updated version with the ability to adapt to individual customer requests

On December 2, 2020, the Rickor R & D team announced the release of an updated version of the BIOS/BMC management system for server platforms. This software is a full-fledged proprietary development of the company and is timed to the radical update of the product line. This version of BMC is characterized by improved functionality that meets server requirements and flexibility of configuration. 2018: BMC Development End

The Russian innovative holding Ricor announced in May 2018a the completion of the development of the software part of its own server management system (baseboard management controller, BMC). Entering the Ricor system on the market will be a fundamental step forward both for Russian software as a whole and from the point of view of import substitution in the field of high technology.

Software development is based on an open-source project (openbmc): Ricor will provide system users with access to source codes for further certification or necessary changes. Ricor warrants that the system does not contain unauthorized software modules - "bookmarks."

The built-in software BMC "Ricor" is an adapted version of Linux for the selected chip.

In terms of functional filling, BMC Ricor implements the following procedures:

• monitor the presence of executive computing devices on the board (CPU, DDR, PCH);
• monitoring of the procedure of power supply to executive computing devices;
• controlling the speed of the fans for cooling both the computing devices themselves and the air inside the body of the article;
• Implementation of the IPMI system
• Implement remote server management and administration capabilities (power management, power on/off signaling, and informing the user of the current state of the server).
