Integration with InfoWatch Traffic Monitor

ARinteg and InfoWatch HA have completed testing of their products - the ARZip archiver and the InfoWatch Traffic Monitor DLP system. The integration of solutions allows you to automate the verification of password-protected archives that are sent to external recipients from the corporate network, and eliminate data leaks through them. Thus, with the implementation of these solutions, companies increase their cybersecurity and can more efficiently use available resources. ARinteg announced this on June 19, 2024.

ARZip is a solution that, thanks to its collaboration with the most common Russian DLP systems, combines the ability to work with file archives with the functionality to counter data leaks, said Dmitry Slobodenyuk, commercial director of ARinteg. - We have provided the ability to connect ARZip via API to DLP, since without this DLP cannot open password-protected archives.

The company noted that the integration of the ARZip archiver and the InfoWatch Traffic Monitor DLP system has solved the problem of reading encrypted archives. It was a pretty daunting task. The fact is that it is no coincidence that experts pay attention to the fact that "the likelihood that DLP systems will begin to select passwords for archives over time, decrypt them on the fly and analyze the content tends to zero. This is due to too high requirements for computing power and speed of data processing in the stream in case of dubious legal support of the process.

In order for ARZip to allow DLP systems to "see through the archives," the organization decides that ARZip becomes its only corporate archiver, then all 100% of the passwords of archive files in the company sent outside the perimeter of the organization, DLP is able to open and study their contents automatically.

Password-protected archives are one of the common channels for leaks of confidential information. The joint use of ARZip and InfoWatch Traffic Monitor solutions allows you to close the potential risk, ensuring the ability to control archives in automatic mode, and reduce the operational costs of processing such incidents, - said Timur Galiulin, product development manager at InfoWatch Group of Companies.

Previously, DLP systems that prevent the leakage of confidential corporate information were unable to automatically control password-protected archives. Verification of such investments was carried out manually, which took a lot of time for employees of the information security services. Classified information could go outside the company in such archives.

The automated work of DLP with password-protected archives allows you to free up human resources, previously used for manual analysis of quarantine files, as well as reduce the risks inherent in the human factor, minimize the risks of fines, including for personal data leaks, for which legislators are preparing to tighten.

As noted in the company, with the transition to ARZip in collaboration with the DLP system, the efficiency of the information security service can actually double. So, when implementing this solution at one of the customers, one employee was able to deal with the analysis of "problem" files there instead of two.

How ARZip automates archive validation and improves an organization's cybersecurity

Companies are vulnerable to archives. But there is a way out: ARZip is a unique solution for working with password-protected archives.

The password archive is a tough nut to crack for information security company specialists in terms of prevention procedures. leaks Compressed and protected, password file as a rule, does not allow To DLP system you to look inside such an archive. This means that sensitive information can go beyond the perimeter of the organization. However, the team ARinteg found a solution to this problem by creating an ARZip archiver program for working with password-protected archives, which has already been entered in the domestic register under ON No. 15721.
