  • 1996 - Sybase and Microsoft companies made the decision to stop joint development of a product, and to independently develop everyone the branch. Thus, two different DBMS with the general heritage in the form of a procedural language of Transact-SQL and architecture of data processing appeared: Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Microsoft SQL Server. Sybase SQL Server 11.0 was the last, developed together with Microsoft version, version 11.5 is already released independently.

  • 1998 - Adaptive Server Enterprise of version 11.9.2 is released, in DBMS blocking at the level of records is supported.

  • 1999 - Adaptive Server Enterprise of version 11.9.2 is released, and in version 12.0 (released in 1999) — support of distributed transactions is implemented.
  • 2001 - Adaptive Server Enterprise of version 12.5 in which the built-in EJB container in a database server is implemented is released.

  • 2005 - there was version 15 in which, in particular, such opportunities as sectioning are implemented, virtual columns, many initsializatsionny parameters of copies of databases became dynamic (i.e., there was an opportunity to change their values during operation without restart of a copy).
