2021: Beginning of testing of the function "take away in shop"
On January 18, 2021 AliExpress Russia announced the beginning of testing of the function "take away in shop" for the Russian sellers of AliExpress. It allows the buyer to check quickly an order status and to receive purchase in shop of the seller, convenient for it, in several hours after the order, without waiting for the courier or delivery in the automatic post office. Function is implemented based on IT- platforms "Cainiao" in Russia (Cainiao Network enters c Alibaba Group). Issue of the order and delivery in shop for the buyer are free.
Now in a card of goods and in a basket users will see this option of delivery – "take away in shop" (if such opportunity is provided by shop). For shipment at own expense the shop, the nearest to the address specified by the buyer is automatically appointed. If necessary it is possible to pass to the card and to select shop to other address. The seller specifies a time frame for which will provide goods. When sending arrives to the selected shop, the buyer will receive the notification in the application. The goods can be taken away within several hours or to select suitable time. The seller will deliver goods in the necessary shop during the specified period and will announce readiness of the order for issue.
Besides, buyers will be able to return not suitable goods in shop at once, having issued the simplified return through the application of AliExpress.
Networks of goods for the house and fashionable retailers, including "220 Volts" and Finn Flare became partners of testing for January, 2021. Users can select shipment at own expense as a delivery option from their shops.
This service will be available to connection on API to all Russian sellers. Express issue became one of the first services within localization of the Cainiao IT platforms in Russia. The company is going to invest more than 1 billion rubles during 2021 in it.
The companies which will be connected to this option will be able to load the list of the shops for mapping, to select regions of delivery for shipment at own expense and also to specify time for which they will bring goods to shop.
Shipment at own expense from shop is an element of our strategy. The shop on AliExpress will become a part of the general omnichannel system of sales of the retailer. The buyer can shop in offline shop and online or to take away online purchases in offline point. Such option is convenient for buyers, first of all, of the fashion-direction where it is very difficult to guess the size in advance, and it is often necessary to return goods.
