2025: Sale of yacht at auction

In mid-October 2025, it became known that the US authorities sold the Amadea superyacht, which, according to their statements, belonged to Russian businessman Suleyman Kerimov. The name of the new owner of the vessel was not disclosed.

The yacht was created by the German shipbuilding company Lürssen. Founded in 1875, this shipyard builds mega-yachts, warships and special-purpose vessels. The Amadea, launched in 2017, is about 106 metres long. The vessel received luxury areas on all decks, including a panoramic pool with Jacuzzi, helipad, two spas and a cinema. The interiors feature rich finishes. There are two elevators for guests and crew. On board can comfortably accommodate up to 16 people. The maximum speed is 20 knots, the cruising speed is 13 knots. The range reaches 8,000 nautical miles with a cruising speed of.

According to Business Insider, citing the US Marshals Service, the yacht was arrested in 2022. Amadea closed auction ended on September 10, 2025. Initially, the cost of the vessel was estimated at $300 million, but later the figure of $230 million was called. It is noted that the US authorities sought to get rid of Amadea, since the cost of maintaining the yacht - crew salary, fuel, insurance and much more - reached almost $1 million per month.

However, ownership of the yacht is being questioned. As Business Insider clarifies, shortly after the arrest, lawyers for Millemarin Investments, which owned Amadea, said that its owner was not Suleyman Kerimov, but the former head of Rosneft, Eduard Khudainatov. His lawyers say they will "continue to fight until they bring the property back." They call the auction "unlawful and premature."[1]
