The Aplana Test Automation Framework (TAF) is designed to speed up and reduce the cost of the functional testing process.

The toolkit allows you to involve engineers who perform manual testing in the creation of automated tests. At the same time, the minimum time costs for their training (two to four hours) will reduce the cost of the development stages of the functional testing automation system (SAFT). Support and use of the solution is possible even by engineers who do not have programming skills. This allows you to increase the share of automated procedures in manual functional testing projects without involving car test developers, the developers say.

2021: Add Record & Playback for SAP Systems

On June 21, 2021, IBS AppLine Innovation announced that its specialists continue to improve and develop its own Chameleon framework for automated functional testing. As part of the update, Chameleon has a recorder that allows you to automate the testing of SAP systems.

The Chameleon framework was created and patented in 2018. In 2020, it became the first domestic development in the field of testing automation, included in the Unified Register of Russian programs for computers and databases. The IBS AppLine Innovation development team is constantly working to improve its own IT solution: optimizes the interface, reduces implementation time, and expands functionality.

Thanks to the latest update, Chameleon has the Record & Playback tool for SAP systems, which allows you to get a record of user actions in the form of an already ready-made auto test in Russian. This not only significantly simplifies, but also speeds up the development of automated tests by at least twice.

Chameleon offers a unified approach to test writing regardless of the types of systems tested, which allows you to automate SAP GUI, SAP Web and test integrations with other systems using only one solution. To simplify the work with the framework, we have developed a plugin for the IntelliJ IDEA development environment and a user action recorder. Now it is much easier for employees with minimal automation experience to enter the project,
said Nikolai Streltsov, head of automated functional testing at IBS AppLine Innovation.

Among the main features of the recorder are recording user actions in the format of a BDD script, working with the element repository, finding the necessary elements and selecting locators.

The Chameleon framework is actively used on testing and quality assurance projects ON in large Russian companies, including from. public sectors Our tool is characterized by stability, the ability to start the project easily and quickly, run and run tests in parallel, the high speed of their development and clear final reports. This addition will significantly improve the quality of work on test SAP automation projects. As a result of the work of the recorder, testing specialists can get a finished car test about twice as fast,
noted Nikolay Marchenko, Head of Automated and Load Testing at IBS AppLine Innovation

2020: Inclusion of the Chameleon framework (Aplana TAF) in the Unified Register of Russian Programs

On July 13, 2020, IBS announced that the Aplana TAF framework was included in the Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computers and Databases. Work on the solution was carried out by a resident of Skolkovo - the company IBS AppLine Innovation (formerly Aplana AITI Innovation).

In 2019, an application was submitted for the introduction of a software product into the Unified Register of Russian Software for Computers and Databases, in 2020 the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation made a positive decision on registration (reg. software number 6659).

IBS engineers AppLine combined a number of open source solutions, expanding their capabilities due to significant functionality refinement. The main tasks of Chameleon are to simplify and accelerate the process of conducting automated functional testing.

Support and use of the Chameleon solution is possible by manual testing engineers who do not have the programming skills usually required to write automated tests. You can learn how to work with the tool in just two to four hours. As a result of involving manual testers in the creation of auto tests, the costs for the development stages of the functional test automation system are significantly reduced. This allows you to increase the share of automated procedures in manual functional testing projects without involving auto test developers.

Since the development of the framework, Chameleon has been used in testing and quality assurance projects ON in various the Russian companies, including from. public sectors The product is constantly evolving: new features are added, the interface is improved, and the time it takes to implement the tool on the customer landscape is increasingly reduced.

IBS Technical Director AppLine Pavel Eideland: {{quote 'The inclusion of IBS's own development AppLine in the register of Russian software is a confirmation of its functional maturity, the high level of expertise of our developers, the demand for such a product in the Russian market and its competitiveness. This is also an important contribution to the import substitution strategy, which has been actively implemented in recent years in the field of IT. The development team does not stop at the current version and continues to improve Chameleon, as well as creating tools and approaches for automating software testing. }}

2018: Development and registration in Rospatent

On September 5, 2018, Aplana (part of Aplana Group of Companies) announced the development and registration of its own Aplana Test Automation Framework (TAF) solutions for automating functional testing and Aplana Performance Testing Framework (PTF) for carrying out software load tests.

The development of Russian solutions in the field of testing automation was carried out by a resident of Skolkovo - the company Aplana AITI Innovations - for almost three months - from April 2018. In August, they were registered by the Federal Intellectual Property Service. According to the developers, the solutions are already being applied in the Aplana projects for testing and ensuring the quality of software in Russian companies.

File:Aquote1.png
The development of its own products is part of the approach of Aplana, aimed at reducing the dependence of the Russian testing market on solutions produced by foreign manufacturers. Our priorities were to minimize the main shortcomings of developing automated tests on Open Source platforms and reduce the complexity of work on load and automated tests. These are the first domestic products among specialized software quality assurance tools, "said Alla Prokhorova, CEO of Aplana.
