Engineering reference book v.2.0
Within the program of development of the product "The Engineering Reference Book for a CAD" of APPIUS Group, the Russian developer of the PLM solutions on the 1C:Enterprise 8 platform, released in the spring of 2012 the new version – Engineering Reference Book v.2.
The engineering reference book is heritage of successfully proved "Engineering reference book for a CAD" which users, in due time, were more than 800 enterprises of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The engineering reference book v.2 which is based on successful operating experience of the predecessor at the same time is qualitatively new software product implemented on a modern software platform "1C: Enterprise 8.2".
As a core of the new Engineering reference book programming elements of a system "1C:PDM Management of engineering data" are used that allows to provide the solution of a full range of tasks: from management of users and security before storage of files and interrelations of elements. The engineering reference book v.2 works in file, server, the Web mode and in regime of the thin client. Users have an opportunity to involve already available infrastructure of "1C: Enterprise" including servers.
The engineering reference book v.2 includes the following information:
- Grades of materials (more than 7000 names);
- Ranges of materials (more than 600 names);
- Documents specifications, industry Standard, GOST and to their communications with brands and ranges (more than 2000 names);
- The metal-cutting equipment (about 600 names with images);
- Qualifier of transactions GOST (about 1500 transaction types);
- Standard sizes of ranges (more than 80000);
- Total characteristics of the equipment (geometrical sizes, power, image);
- Metals, alloys, wood, glues, lubricant, paronite, plastic, welding materials, solders and gumboils, glass, chemical materials, SOZhi, rubbers, varnishes, paints;
- Foreign materials.

Engineering reference book v.2.6
- Integration with 1C:PDM
In version 2.6 of the Engineering reference book the possibility of interactive interaction with a management system for engineering data of 1C is implemented: PDM v.2.6. The designer or the technologist, selecting material in structure of a product or technology, are included at once in the Engineering reference book in which can create a material copy according to GOST or select the applied one or several materials from the list. Material can be added as the main to technical process as a completing element to transaction as an auxiliary material or as material in the specification of a product. At the same time in 1C:PDM the selected material copy with all properties specified in material of the Engineering reference book is created. Further for viewing these properties there is enough system 1C:PDM. The uniqueness of the selected copies of materials is checked by the identifier that guarantees normalization of data in two bases – 1C:PDM and the Engineering reference book. The added material can be placed in any resource of the design-technology reference book (DTRB), being guided by new means in KTS of system 1C: Not classified elements are PDM v.2.6. Representation of material forms in such a way that you will be able easily to exclude or add new parameters to a line of display of material, separately to change a range, the brand, the specification, etc.
- Creation of new copies on the basis of existing
Business processes of design-technology preparation require support of lifecycle of an object copy of material throughout: from product development before purchase. During lifecycle there is a consecutive indication at first of a material grade (and, perhaps, a range) in the drawing, then at technology study the indication of additional parameters of material, selection by the technologist of standard sizes, perhaps material analogs. For this purpose in the new version of the Engineering reference book there is a mechanism of addition of the created copy of material and creation on its basis of the following on detailing. So, for example, the designer, specifying a grade of the material "Steel 20", creates the corresponding copy with indication of only the brand, and then the technologist for this copy selects a range and a standard size, being guided by the brand which is already selected by the designer. The engineering reference book at the same time creates the connected copies, and in case of change by the designer of the brand or the choice of other material, the technologist can be notified on change of the copy used in technology.
- New means of technology equipment are added
New means of technology equipment are added to the reference book. In total about 750 names with indication of all parameters. The image explaining parameter values is added to each resource.
- Export of units of measure
In interaction of the Engineering reference book with 1C:PDM from the Engineering reference book there is export of units of measure, necessary for material.
Engineering reference book v.2.6.3
The APPIUS company released new release 2.6.3 of "The engineering reference book" what the press service of the company announced on July 31, 2013.
In new release the possibility of adding of available standard sizes is implemented:
- the standard size from the general list can be added to the list of available, having dragged it in a tree for the line "Available Standard Sizes" or on parent element;
- if to apply a standard size from the general list, it will automatically be included in this list.
Multiple application is implemented:
- the feature for application of several means of technology equipment and transaction types is added
- application of the folder.
Means of technology equipment are added to the reference book:
- mills,
- countersinks,
- cutters,
- grinding wheels,
- files and other service stations.
About 4 thousand names are added. The image explaining a parameter value is added to each folder.
Engineering reference book v.2.7
In version 2.7 of the Engineering reference book the data exchange mechanism since 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management allowing to transfer the nomenclature and all related data (characteristics of the nomenclature, types of the nomenclature, partners, etc.) and also to obtain these data from 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management is implemented. There was a possibility of creation of nomenclature positions for the applied materials.
In the new version transfer of the main image of means of the technology equipment in a management system for engineering data 1C:PDM explaining parameter values is implemented. The properties necessary in 1C:PDM are added - when unloading of the applied materials in 1C:PDM the parameters "Nomenclature", "Characteristic of the Nomenclature", "Status", "Stage" necessary for a possibility of carrying out business process of state change are added to the list of their parameters.
Means of technology equipment are added to the reference book: spiral drills, bench hammers, grinding heads, compasses, etc., in total more than 2800 names.
2014: Engineering reference book 2.7.4
On January 31, 2014 the company Appius announced release of the new version "Engineering Reference Book" of version 2.7.4 - PLM- a component for CAD- systems SolidWorks.
List of changes and additions
In this version the level of integration into the Engineering reference book is expanded, the interface of setup of parameters of a PLM component and the mechanism of control of record of archive documents is added.
For an exception of a possibility of rewriting of the edited model which is in a status "archive" the Save button in a management system for engineering data 1C:PDM is blocked when opening models and drawings now for making changes which then will be saved by audit. The Save button is not blocked for again placed models and also for the models opened from 1C:PDM without flag "Open for creation of audits".
Work of the majority of functions of a PLM component on the speed of work, such as functions of opening, synchronization and canceling of changes is optimized.
At material selection from the Engineering reference book functions of separation of material into the brand, range and standard size are implemented. Now before work it is possible to select, the restrictive list of materials in SolidWorks will form how exactly: with separation into properties or is not present.
The first case assumes that the brand with its parameters is entered in the restrictive list of the reference book SolidWorks at use of material. The range and a standard size are brought in properties of a configuration of model for which material is appointed. Thus, the marochnik of materials is stored in the reference book SolidWorks. The second case assumes copy purpose of material. In this case, the reference book of the materials SolidWorks is filled out on the basis of the list of applicability of the Engineering reference book with the material copy containing a mark, a range and a standard size. When placing data in 1C:PDM the material separated into a mark, a range and a standard size integrates for compliance to the material applied in the Engineering reference book.
