The product "1C:PDM Management of engineering data 4 (PLM)" is intended for automation of design-technology preparation of production and supports the solution of a number of tasks of product information management for its lifecycle (PLM), beginning from creation of the concept of a product and Research and Development, and finishing with a product output from operation. The built-in integration of a product with 1C: ERP Enterprise Management 2 (further 1C:ERP) and "1C:MES Operational production management" (further 1C:MES) allows to plan flexibly production and to manage production.
Main industry functionality of the program:
- Management of structure of a product: management design, technology, production structures of a product, version control, executions and replacements of structures of a product, comparison of structures, search of vkhodimost, approval and control of relevance of the design-technology documentation (DTD) and structures, carrying out engineering changes;

On August 26, 2015 the APPIUS company announced certification of a product "1C:Enterprise 8. PDM Management of engineering data 3.0" and obtaining status "Compatibly! System of programs 1C: Enterprise"[1].
1C: PDM v.3.0 belongs to universal solutions and is intended for automation of design-technology preparation of production (PDM — Product Data Management — product data management), allows to manage electronic structure of a product (GOST 2.053-2013), file archive of design and technology documentation (GOST 2.051-2013), to keep account of originals and copies of paper archive (GOST 2.501-2013), to calculate labor and material regulations, to operate with electronic notifications on change, differentiation of access rights to design and technology information.
In 1C: PDM v.3.0 is implemented the principle of the maximum openness of the code, it provides a possibility of adaptation of a product to needs of end consumers.
As a part of a configuration the preconfigured mechanisms for joint work with the solution "1C: ERP Enterprise Management 2.0".
Use of a new configuration is possible only with the 1C: Enterprise platform of version 8.3.5 above.
2014
1С:PDM Version 3
The APPIUS company released in the fall of 2014 version v. 3 systems "1C:PDM Management of engineering data" especially for joint bezyntegratsiony use about "1C: ERP Enterprise Management 2.0".
Version v. 3 1C systems: By PDM it was announced within the Business forum 1C:ERP which took place on November 28, 2014 in Moscow. The new version was shown "alive" and attracted great interest of participants at the event. A system is developed on the new modern platform "1C:Enterprise 8.3" supporting work via the Internet including "cloud" technologies and work on mobile devices.
1C: PDM v.3 contains a part of metadata "1C: ERP Enterprise Management 2.0". Reference books underwent conversion according to requirements of new schedule system resources of the enterprise:
- "Groups of replaceability of RTs" are deleted;
- types of work centers are added;
- in 1C:PDM transaction types are saved (byvsh. Reference book "Transaction types" of management of manufacturing plants);
- work with characteristics on types of the nomenclature is added;
- reference books "Specifications of the Nomenclature" and "Process charts" are deleted;
- Stages, "Resource specifications" and Route charts are added.
In the course of sharing at the enterprise of uniform complex 1C:PDM and 1C: ERP the following functions are performed:
- uniform classification of purchased products and products of own production in 1C:PDM and 1C: ERP is provided;
- automatic data translation from a format of storage 1C:PDM in a format of storage 1C:ERP is provided;
- unloading under the order of all information, necessary for the ERP system, on a product is provided;
- unloading of technology data on end-to-end technical processes is provided (including auxiliary materials and the equipment);
- unloading of notifications on change from 1C:PDM with change of the corresponding production specifications in ERP – a system is supported;
- data validation on correctness and completeness for operability of ERP – systems is provided;
- automatically notifications to owners by errors in data 1C:PDM with indication of objects at which there is wrong information form.
Component to solution 1C:PDM - "The browser of structure of a product and manufacturing techniques"
On February 28, 2014 the APPIUS company announced release of a dedicated component to configuration 1C:PDM – "The browser of structure of a product and manufacturing techniques".
The program works without use of licenses of the designer and the technologist.
The component is focused on the staff of the enterprise who is not participating in design-technology preparation of production. It helps to browse the electronic structure of a product (ESP) and manufacturing techniques.
Setup of individual preferences of display of parameters in the form of columns in the table is available. For example, for ESI it can be the format, quantity, unit of measure, weight, etc. The browser is convenient for the technologist.
Setup of the program will provide an output of necessary data and facilitates perception. Developers provide the convenient mechanism of data protection from changes.
2013:
1С:PDM Version 2.7
Changes in the new edition of solution 1C:PDM 2.7 are directed to convenience of work of users, acceleration of accomplishment of their functional tasks.
The release of the new version was announced by the press service of developer company on August 15, 2013.
- The system of regulation is improved - it is created on mechanisms of blocks of calculation.
- The mechanism of calculations is improved - users can independently create blocks of calculations without involvement of programmers.
- The window of check of completeness of design documents – check of structure of a product regarding existence of necessary documents and files and also viewing owners of elements and their statuses is added.
- The new mechanism of connection of external modules (plug-ins) which gives the chance to users to solve applied problems without making changes in a standard configuration, without breaking an automatic process of updates on new versions.
- Interaction with the engineering reference book and a PLM components to CAD systems is improved – there were more settings, it is more than opportunities.
Component to solution 1C:PDM for increase in efficiency of product development
APPIUS, the Russian developer of the PLM solutions on 1C: Enterprise platform 8 in May, 2013, released a new dedicated component to solution 1C:PDM – the Editor of group specifications. The component is intended for viewing, operational creation and editing executions of the electronic structure of a product (ESP) in the context of the group specification by option "A" or option "B" according to GOST 2.113-75.
The editor of group specifications allows to browse, edit and create quickly executions in one working window that in itself is reduced by the probability of emergence of an error. Representation and editing structure of execution can be made in the context of the group specification both by option "A", and by option "B". For each option the specialized and convenient functionality in use is provided.

The APPIUS company announced in April, 2013 a release of version 2.6.3 of industry solution, joint with 1C Company, 1C:PDM. Changes concerned design, technology subsystems, administration, development of the mechanism of blocks of calculation, interaction about "1C:Enterprise 8. MES Operational production management".

1С:PDM Version 2.6.2
The APPIUS company announced in November, 2012 an exit of new release 2.6.2 of industry solution, joint with 1C Company, on management of engineering data 1C:PDM. Changes concerned a design and technology part and also administration of a system. In new release the feature for copying of technology transactions, transitions, route points at drag and drop is added; in the editor of executions it is possible to create several executions of one product at once, having specified the starting number and the number of new executions. Within administration mailing of email notifications for any system event, updating of representation of the existing elements by the form is implemented, check of uniqueness on representation for elements and audits is separated. New reports are added, search setups of elements are expanded, creation of nomenclature positions in the selected group, etc. is possible. Use of uniform complex 1S:PDM and 1S: UPP provides the effective, competent enterprise management guaranteeing quality improvement of products.
The editor Route chart for configuration 1C:PDM
The component is intended for creation and editing technology processes as a result of which work standard object 1C:PDM – electronic technology, i.e. the information process description of production including the description of all processes and means necessary for production of a product is created.
The feature of the Editor Route chart is that development of technology process goes directly in the form of the form of the route chart in accordance with GOST 3.1118-82 which is usual for many technologists. It allows to see the picture as close as possible to that on the screen that will be on printing. Thus, the concept of "the active document", the principle of WYSIWYG is implemented ("that you see, you will receive") that allows:
facilitate work of the technologists unusual to the "technology tree" interface; exclude repeated revamping of the same document; save finance and time expenditure when training in work with a system; to quickly train employees with any level of computer literacy. The route chart in the Editor represents the sequence of the sheets located in one field that excludes need of switching between them and accelerates work of the user.
Editor of routes 1C:PDM
The APPIUS company released in the fall of 2012 the Editor of routes 1C:PDM expanding functionality of a management system for engineering data in the field of technology preparation of production.
The editor of routes – the component to configuration 1C:PDM intended for operational creation and editing routes, creation of technology processes, adding of the main materials and their regulations. The interface of the Editor of routes allows to work not only with technology data, but with structure of a product that gives the chance to the technologist quickly to create technology processes and routes on each part or assembly unit in a product, to quickly copy a route or technical process, to see technology on the borrowed products. To norm setters the Editor of routes allows to add automatically the main material specified in a part to technology process. The interface of the editor allows the technologist to see all parameters of parts and assemblies, such as weight, dimensions, area, etc. along with information on technology (a route, technical process, the amount of procurement, weight of procurement and consumption rate). Setup of display of visibility of columns it is possible to change the interface of the editor so that to leave only necessary information for the solution of a required task.
Treat the main objectives solved by the Editor of routes:
- display of design-technology data in the single interface;
- editing properties of a product and technology in one window;
- creation of technology processes with assignment of designations by it;
- creation of routes with formation of points of routes;
- creation of route technology on products with indication of piece time;
- copying of a route or its parts from one product on others with automatic change of designation;
- copying of technology processes from one product on others;
- copying of parts of routes or technical processes;
- adding of the main material specified by the designer to technology process;
- the operational analysis on structure of a product of existence or lack of technology processes / routes;
- functions of automatic completing of assembly technical processes by component parts of assembly unit;
- functions of fitting of assembly transactions.
The editor of routes can be used by specialists of service ACS for fast data preparation on technology of a product for the systems of production planning and production accounting. Working methods with the Editor of routes are unified with basic elements.
Analysis of production indicators
APPIUS company released in June, 2012 processing "The analysis of production indicators" for use in a uniform complex: 1C:PDM Management of engineering data and 1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management.
Processing is active and when positioning on an element of structure of a product in system 1C:PDM makes updating of production indicators on the selected element. It is also possible to select the analyzed structure element through the conductor then the selected element will be displayed in processing in the corresponding field and, besides, updating of production indicators will be made.
Production indicators are separated into four sections:
- The general:
- Nomenclature.
- Type of reproduction.
- Route (shop-to-shop routing)
- Applicability (shop-to-shop routing)
- Price types
- Price.
Remaining balance in warehouses: the list of a remaining balance on each warehouse, and in results – a remaining balance in general on all warehouses is output.
- Technology: the list of technology processes and routes along which the structure element is made is output.
- Resource specifications and process charts of production – in this section are submitted two tables: the list of all specifications according to the nomenclature and the process charts linked with this specification.
This processing is provided to the enterprises, users of solution 1C:PDM, is free within technical support.
Methodical materials for acceleration of process of system implementation 1C:PDM
The APPIUS company released in the summer of 2012 new methodical materials on work in a management system for engineering data 1C:PDM – "Input in a 1C system: PDM of design data on the basis of paper carriers" where the order and the principle of work of the specialists who are responsible for input in the system of design data at an implementation stage is in detail described.
In methodical materials the option of manual creation of the electronic structure of a product (ESP) based on information input from design specifications is sorted. These materials allow to create ESI from group and single specifications and further to support it in a relevant form.
According to the provided technique any employee of the enterprise with ease will be able to start information input for creation of uniform electronic archive for the purpose of further data transmission in the accounting system.
New methodical materials are included in the package which includes instructions on the main subsections of system 1C:PDM, and are issued free of charge after training.
1С:PDM Version 2.6.1
Changes concerned a design and technology subsystem and also improvement of interaction with the ERP system "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management" and CAD systems. New in the version:
- Management of a product of structure
- Execution of the specification in parts and to sections.
- Design stopped being the independent element added to structure of a product. Now elements of this type play a role of parameters of communication (also as, for example, Quantity or Units of measure). A design can act as the section of the specification (Documentation, "Assembly units", Parts and so forth) and also its parts ("Are established when wiring", "Set on"). Distribution of elements by sections gives the chance to correctly create design reports in accordance with GOST and also quickly and to conveniently edit structure of a product. Elements can be moved from the section to the section, it is also possible to create the sections and parts of the specification. Ordering of elements is performed in the section. If desired display of parts and sections can be turned off.
- Automatic putting of positions and position designations.
- There was a possibility of automatic putting of positions and also position designations (for electronic components) as a part of a product that considerably accelerates data entry process. Position designations treat according to group to which the electronic component, and its alphabetic code belongs (R, C, X and so forth).
- Choice of a method of adding of new parameters: to an element or to communication (in the context of applicability).
- When adding new parameter it is possible to select whether parameter directly belongs to an element or treats an element in the context of this applicability (i.e. is communication parameter).
- Change of secondary representation (image).
- It is possible to add the image to any element (the sketch, the drawing and so forth) in a window of secondary representation through a context menu.
- Possibility of display of the selected element in the specification of the parent.
- Multiple selection in a tree and also in the list of audits.
Management of technology
- Completing by structure of assembly unit.
- There was a possibility of completing of transaction by design structure of the made product. The product is added to completing and "is developed" by an instruction fetch in a panel of actions on components. At the same time the quantity of the product is considered.

Design-technology reference book
- Possibility of viewing elements of a resource in a tree.
- There was an opportunity to include/switch off display of elements of a resource in a tree for all reference book (for the user).

- There was a possibility of any ordering of elements in a resource. Elements can be sorted by the set parameters and also to move manually - the exposed order remains.
- Multiple selection in a tree.
Editor of executions
- Editing technology communications.
- There was a possibility of editing complex communications of technology (completing, the made products, means of technology equipment) through the editor of executions.
- Replacement of an element on all applicability.
- For formation of the group notification the editor of executions allows to replace an element on all applicability now, including and in technology processes and routes.
- Transition to the connected notification on change from approval business process.
- Possibility of completion of business process of approval of acceptance of all changes.
- The responsible person had an opportunity to complete business process of approval of acceptance of all changes. It is necessary, for example, when the person which should accept changes, no and the deputy is not appointed.
Access rights
- The new object rights are added: "Removal from structure" and Removal.
- Both of these rights prohibitive (i.e. for them it is optional to put permission). The right "Removal from structure" regulates a possibility of removal of the subordinated elements. I.e., if it is forbidden, no element can be deleted from structure of the current parent. The right Removal works for a specific element and allows to forbid removal it, taking into account applicability.
Administration

- Check of uniqueness of elements in a system is regulated by the corresponding constant now. Check can be turned off quickly, having reset a flag in a system settings window.

Changes concerned a design and technology subsystem and also improvement of means of the general administration of a system and interaction with the ERP system "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management 8".
Management of products of structures
Management tools the electronic structure of products (ESP) were replenished with new modification of the editor of executions. The new editor of executions can edit not only directly executions of products now, but also the products connected by any group document or having a common part of the specification.
By means of the editor of executions comparison of products and also formation of the group notification on change with automatic search of products in applicability became possible. The notification on change in the editor of executions forms similar to the editor of structure of a product now – ESI modification. Using the editor of executions, it is possible to compare two versions of the same product and to create the notification on change on the basis of differences.
Technology preparation of production
Technology preparation of production in 1C:PDM received an automated system of preparation of standard and group technology processes. Now a system automatically saves changes for a certain product, considering at the same time not only changes (version) of the entering components or materials, but also considering changes of the technology. For formation of the changes characteristic to a certain product, it is enough to execute of them over a common part and to save them. Selection of versions of transactions allows to create several options of technical processes or transactions, depending on conditions of production, and is automated to select them. By transfer to the ERP system of standard technology processes of their copy are automatically converted into single technical processes with characteristic changes for each product, leaving originals without changes. Even if standard technology process underwent changes, there is no need to replicate them in ERP – a 1C system: PDM will make it automatically.
In version 2.1.2, following a wish of users, more than 20 improvements in administration system and the user interface thanks to which work in a system became even more effective and more convenient were entered.
PLM component 2.5 for SolidWorks
In version 2.5 the command of filling of values of properties of designation and the name is added. Designation and the name can be recognized from a name of the document, a name or the description of a configuration, from representation of a configuration for the specification. In the new version the recognition algorithm is improved.
Model material is imported to 1C:PDM as an object of electronic structure now. When importing the uniqueness of material is checked. Three new commands are added: preserving of values of properties of the document SolidWorks in document 1C:PDM, receiving and updating of values of SolidWorks properties from 1C:PDM and a command of synchronization of structure of a product which allows to construct ESI separately from preserving transaction.
PLM component 2.1 for SolidWorks
In February the version of PLM component 2.1 for the three-dimensional modeling system SolidWorks is announced. Now the PLM component supports SolidWorks 2011 in addition to the previous versions.
The PLM component is the addition to the SolidWorks system which is carrying out work with a management system for engineering data 1C:PDM. The component is intended for automatic creation of electronic archive of documents based on the existing assembly units and parts and also for automatic formation of electronic structure of a product and collective work with documents. In the new version of a PLM component work with big assemblies is optimized, closer interaction with ToolBox library and with tabular configurations is provided. There was a convenient system of search and opening of documents, different schemes of import of names and designations of documents and configurations are implemented. Speed of work of a PLM component during the preserving and synchronization of data is significantly increased and also when editing. A changeable connection mode with the database of a 1C system: PDM allows to save the number of licenses and significantly increases reliability of work.
The PLM component to SolidWorks for a management system for engineering data 1C:PDM allows to involve effective data exchange in real time between the system of design and a management system for engineering data, to organize collective work and automatic formation of electronic structure of a product and electronic archive of models and drawings.
2005-2007
The solution entered the market in July, 2005 under the name Appius-PDM. September, 2007 became a rebirth: the new version with new name 1C:PDM – joint industry solution of 1C Company and APPIUS Group.
Production solution 1C:PDM and ERP system "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management" became key in the program and methodical complex "1C: Mechanical Engineering 8" which left in June, 2008.
One of the main features of the solution is the high level of typification of process of implementation of all its components concerning both design, and technology preparation of production. The technology of implementation production 1C:PDM is brought to an industrial stage that allows the enterprises to receive result from its use quickly.
Today 1C:PDM – qualitatively new end-to-end management tool the current activity of the enterprise providing the transparent and managed product lifecycle management processes (PLM) and documentation, high performance, the best interaction of specialists and control over a production process.
