2024: Product Announcement

In Russia, in September 2024, a new walking combat robot was presented, capable of moving over rough terrain at speeds up to 10 km/h, which is twice the speed of an ordinary person.

According to Izvestia, the robot is equipped with six paws that allow it to freely move along difficult areas of off-road. At the same time, to move on a flat surface, the robot can transform and move on wheels, which significantly increases its maneuverability and efficiency.

According to a representative of the Applied Robotics company, domestic components are used on the robot platform. The design, boards and main systems responsible for its operation are manufactured in Russia. The robot is also equipped with a camera that provides the operator with the ability to control movement and observe the environment in real time.

The autonomy of the robot is provided by a battery, the charge of which is enough for 5 hours of operation. In ideal conditions, along a straight road, the robot is able to cover up to 50 kilometers without the need to recharge. The range of communication with the operator is 1.5 kilometers, which makes the robot suitable for use at remote sites.

In addition, the developers plan to equip the robot with additional sensors and systems that will make it completely autonomous. If the project is successfully implemented, the robot can be used to perform tasks in a variety of conditions, including underwater operations, provided that a sealed hull is created.

According to the publication, the main task of such platforms at this stage remains auxiliary functions - the delivery of ammunition, medicines and other goods to the front line. However, weapons systems can also be installed on the platform: machine guns, grenade launchers and even flamethrowers. As the developer's representative explained, the robot can automatically aim at targets, which allows the operator to focus on deciding on the use of weapons.[1]
