On February 19, 2013 the Russian companies "Data+" (the Russian supplier of technologies and solutions for creation of geographic information systems) and Esri CIS (the sole distributor in the CIS countries of Esri company, the world supplier of geoinformation technologies) announced release of the new version of ArcGIS Explorer Desktop (2500). This release includes a set of the new features and improvements doing ArcGIS Explorer Desktop to the most effective corporate by GIS tool, first of all, in a combination to a cloud platform of ArcGIS Online.
ArcGIS Explorer Desktop 2500 opens ample opportunities for the publication, access and work with space data and allows all interested persons to create cards with own data and to use web services in 2D - and 3D - the modes. New features of ArcGIS Explorer Desktop include, in particular, processing and exchange of space data through ArcGIS Online, visualization of the tabular information and creation of the presentations. At this ArcGIS Explorer Desktop it is distributed for free.
The new version of ArcGIS Explorer Desktop gives the chance to load content directly into ArcGIS Online where any person having the appropriate rights of access can look at it. Integration of ArcGIS Explorer with ArcGIS Online and also with Portal for ArcGIS and with cloud services of Esri, includes instruments of purpose of roles, creations of the user galleries of cards and search taking into account specifics of the specific organization.
Besides, display on the card of attributes of tables is provided in the new version of ArcGIS Explorer – in one "click" users can browse the table showing all records for the selected object or a layer. The tabular information can be written in the .csv file or is added directly on the card.
Among other new ArcGIS Explorer tools we will note animation of slides, switching of slides on preset time, audiosynchronization and a slide marking and also management of the size and provision of pop-up windows and a full support of the KML tours.
Please note that, starting with this version, ArcGIS Explorer Desktop does not require special installation and can work from an external USB disk on any computer meeting the minimum system requirements.
