2021: GT-50 Development
On July 29, 2021, Avant Space announced the development of a high-performance electric rocket engine for spacecraft. The GT-50 model can be used both for the operation of satellites in Earth orbit and for interplanetary missions, launches of space probes to asteroids.
The propulsion system has a high specific impulse (up to 3000 seconds) and energy efficiency (more than 70%) with consumption of up to 150 W among all electric engines.
We celebrate the completion of the work carried out over the past three years. It is an honor to me that Avant Space was the first private company in our country to develop an electric rocket engine from scratch. We plan to use the GT-50 both in our own devices and to supply it to partners implementing their own projects. I am sure that our engine has a great future both in the orbit of the Earth and beyond, "said the head of the company Anton Ossovsky. |
The final phase of the engine tests, which took place at the NOC "Ion-plasma technologies of MSTU Bauman" under the leadership of S.G. Ivakhnenko, was successfully completed on July 27, 2021. The company is preparing for engine certification, and is also negotiating with commercial customers - operators of satellite systems.
