2025: Service Launch
The Magnit retail chain has launched a new way to pay for goods in a store called Cash in the Phone. The functionality allows you to make purchases as quickly as possible, paying for goods directly in the mobile application and bypassing the cash desks, the press service of Magnit said on November 17, 2025.
The service is available to members of the Magnit Plus loyalty program using the company's mobile application. To take advantage of the new opportunity, you need to scan a special QR code at the entrance to the store. After that, the buyer can start shopping with automatic payment through the application.
The main advantage of the new service is the convenience and speed of payment for small purchases. Goods can be immediately packed without shifting them from the basket. Buyers don't need to get a credit card because it's linked in the app. Payment takes place in one touch.
The technology is especially convenient for point purchases. If the client needs to buy something for a snack or buy the missing food for dinner, the process takes a minimum of time. You do not need to queue at the checkout and pack goods after payment.
The functionality of "Cass in the phone" has been launched in 10 Magnit stores of the "at home" format in Moscow. This is a pilot project that will allow the company to test the technology and collect feedback from buyers. The choice of small stores is due to the specifics of point purchases.
So far, with the help of a new service, you cannot purchase weight products, products with age restrictions and some other items. These restrictions are related to the need for store employees to participate in the sale of certain categories of goods. In the future, the company plans to remove these restrictions as the functionality is improved.[1]
