2022: B. Braun bought the Clik-FIX catheter fixation devices business

On September 27, 2022, B. Braun Medical announced the acquisition of a portfolio of Clik-FIX catheter fixation devices from Starboard Medical. Financial and other parameters of the transaction are not disclosed.

As reported in the press release, Clik-FIX complements the range of B.Braun solutions that help improve patient experience and peripheral intravenous therapy (IV) outcomes. The portfolio includes Clik-FIX Peripheral, PICC/Central, Universal, Neonatal PICC and Soft PICC/Central systems.

It replaces the need to use separate tapes, gauze and transparent bandages, the developers say. Clik-FIX PICC/Central, designed to fix most peripherally administered central catheters (PICCs) and central catheters with an active double fixation mechanism. It is an alternative to seams, tape, tape-based stabilization, and other fixation systems.

The Clik-FIX Universal system stabilizes and fixes any connection of medical tubes to the Leur lock joint. B. Braun Medical's Neonatal PICC Clik-FIX system is compatible with most neonatal PICC lines. In addition, its soft foamed fixing base without hard plastic parts helps to avoid pressure, bruising or injury on the child's skin.

The Clik-FIX Soft PICC/Central device has a soft foamed fixing base and no hard plastic parts. Its versatile design is compatible with most PICCs and centerlines, B. Braun Medical reported.[1]
