Croc Disk

In September, 2016 Croc started own cloud service for file sharing - Croc Disk, reported TAdviser in the company. The director of the department of computing systems Croc Valentin Gubarev told about plans of start of TAdviser service earlier. According to him, Croc Disk actually represents corporate Dropbox: it allows to store files and to exchange them, to use a disk from different devices, including mobile devices, there is also a possibility offline of access.

Among the functions "Croc Disk" - return of earlier document revision in case of rewriting of the file with undesirable changes and an opportunity to share the file with third-party users through the public link, having limited it to the password, validity period or the number of downloads.

One of the main differences Croc Disk from other similar services developers call a possibility of its integration with corporate systems.

Croc Disk will provide up to 100 GB counting on the user. In a corporate subscription the selected volume can be shared: if, for example, one user consumes 50 GB, and other 150 GB are within the contract. The maximum volume of one file in Croc Disk is not limited.

User interface

The company notes that Croc Disk is suitable for the scenarios of use assuming frequent exchange of large files — video, audio and CAD data. At the same time it is suitable also for the large geographically distributed enterprises imposing high requirements to security and the separate project teams which are regularly working out of office, developers say.

For safety of the data in Croc Disk customers can be absolutely quiet. The service is deployed in a cloud Croc which is based on two geographically distributed own DPCs of integrator. Infrastructure meets all relevant requirements of information security that is confirmed by the international certification of ISO/IEC 27001. And the location of data centers in the territory of Russia allows customers precisely the nobility where there are their data. If such security level is not enough, Croc Disk can be unrolled in the customer's infrastructure, - Valentin Gubarev says.

Till November, 2016 the new cloud service will be available to corporate customers Croc free of charge. For launch the company does not declare final tariffs after the free period yet. In Croc told TAdviser that their service will be cheaper than Dropbox Business irrespective of volumes of disk space and number of users. The cost of Dropbox Business is $15 for one user a month at monthly drawing of accounts and $12.5 at annual drawing of accounts. In the description of service it is said that within a subscription so much place how many it is necessary and if more place is required is provided to the user, the volume of the account will be free of charge increased.
