2018: Use for utilization of iPhone
On April 19, 2018 Apple showed the new Daisy robot used for processing of smartphones. Also the company started the program of donations from utilization of the equipment.
Daisy represents considerably an improved version of the Liam robot shown in 2016. If the predecessor worked only with iPhone 6, then the new device will recognize up to nine different iPhone models (the leader of iPhone X is not supported) and for an hour takes up to 200 phones to pieces.
It is noted that Daisy without damages takes component parts for reuse. In smartphones a large amount of valuable materials, including gold, copper, platinum, lithium, aluminum and steel which can be overworked and involved in creation of new electronic devices is applied.
The new robot for utilization of smartphones was shown to Apple on the eve of the Earth Day which is celebrated on April 22. Besides, the company announced the program under the name GiveBack within which till April 30 for each device which is handed over on utilization the American producer of electronics will do donation of Conservation International non-profit organization which fights for preserving of a biodiversity of plants, animals and landscapes around the world.
GiveBack and Daisy are a part of efforts of Apple on improvement of an ecological situation on Earth. In April, 2018 the company announced complete transition to renewable sources (solar panels, wind generators, hydroelectric power stations). As a result all offices, retail stores, data centers and the headquarters, including new Park Apple, for 100% work at "green" electricity in 43 countries of the world. In 2016 the indicator was measured by 93%.[1]
